Headed up to our cabin in Mount Laguna last Friday to catch the snow that was predicted, 4"-8" by NOAA. Rained all Friday afternoon, evening, and well into the night. It was about 45 degrees still as we tucked in for the night. Woke up about 5:30 in the morning to look out the window to see it dumping big, fluffy, snow flakes. About 6" had already accumulated. It continued to snow all day and by early afternoon was a good 12" deep. By Sunday morning we had 18+ inches and even waist deep in the snow drifts that developed with the howling winds overnight. The kids had a blast sledding all day, I wish I had their energy.

Snow level will be down to 2000 ft this Saturday so I think your cabin will get dumped on AGAIN!!

I am traveling through Cajon Pass Friday & Sunday and was going to take the wifey's Subaru but now I am debating on taking chains for the Suby or driving the Cruiser and carrying chains. I feel safe in both and have good clerance in both, chains for both but one I get much better gas mileage and the other I have low range.

Wow! Great pics Derrick, I kinda miss the snow.
What are you towing out?

I wish I could say JEEP like last time (my one brother owns a jeep grand cherokee) but this time I helped my other brother in his 4WD Honda Pilot. There were others in the campground that I pulled out to Sunrise Highway as well. Gotta love the CRUISER!

Yes, I saw the forecast, another 12"+ expected this Saturday !
I might go up again just for the challenge, plus the kids cannot get enough.

Do you have chains? I am considering getting some for times like these, but they are $$$

I have chains but I have only needed them when I am pulling someone out. Just lowered air pressure can get me through all that I have encountered plus the lockers of course in the deep nasty stuff. Last time entering Sunrise Hwy the CHP had everyone just off the Hwy 8 putting on chains. I pulled up and they just smiled and waved me through. Regarding chains, I picked up mine on OAUSA last year used only once for $50 .

Nice photos.. here's a pic of our Saturday at a friends cabin up near Big Bear... careful, you might think thats a Jeep under the white stuff.. i swear it's a Cruiser :D

That was from one 15 hour dump.

We run RUD chains and they work awesome. A little spendy, but the last set you'll ever buy.
