Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

New member here, doing some research on LCs for possible purchase, not quiet settled yet on the idea due to high ownership costs. Great thread and thanks to all who contributed. Came across this article that I wanted to share (Shifts in used-vehicle market cut into proceeds, trigger resets - https://www.autonews.com/used-cars/shifts-used-car-market-cut-proceeds-trigger-resets)

Profit margins appear to be getting tighter for dealers. It may go many different ways here. I think pressure is there to sell, minimize profit and minimize time on the lot... Like always, but economy is changing, let's see how industry reacts. Majority of people appear to be getting into high mpg club, there is big difference between want and LC and need an LC. I also see a lot of sellers put sentimental values on their LCs they put up for sale that translate to reality check coming towards them unless they meet another enthusiast lol.

Couldn’t read, as not a subscriber, but agree times are changing.

Rates are up, inflation is through the roof. The key metric will be delinquency rates on auto loans. Most “average” consumers cannot continue handling these rising prices.

By year end we will know if this is a mild recession or something more material. Let’s see if the Fed raises rates another 75bps at their next meeting.

I work from home 95% of the time and my desire to take on an auto loan for a vehicle that sits in the garage most days is zero.

Credit Unions are very a different segment and often times offer rates that are very different than the rest of the market because they most often hold a low risk portfolio, have specific investment markets to obtain funding, and are non profit. Manufacturer captive lenders also use a different market to source funding, that is part of the reason for the low % rate on most new cars through their respective finance arms.

2020 White/Terra with 40k for $83k at a Lexus dealer. Single owner, local Atlanta trade, excellent condition, good maintenance records.

Found this. 2013 LX, 145k miles for 31k. One owner clean carfax, dealer serviced. It’s in PA so I asked for under carriage pic but haven’t got yet. Anyone interested feel free to follow up or check it out.

I know prices are all inflated right now, but what's the viewpoint of the collective here for a 2010 LX570 with 120k miles for $30k? (Great shape and documented.service history?

This seems like a great price, depends on the location with rust.

Thanks for the reply. In Arizona, no rust.

Thoughts on pricing for a cpo LC 2018 with 50k miles? Dealing asking 79

Just purchased a 2016 with 115k for $55k out of California. May have been a bit high but considering the undercarriage was clean with the expectation I'll keep it for 10 years it felt right. Now have to decide whether to keep the 100 or not...

LightStream has decent rates. If you have USAA them I assume you are probably eligible for Navy Federal. They are normally amazing. I would check them out.
Have you actually used Lightstream? Rates always seem really cheap, but website always seemed a bit sketch to me.

I have used them several times. They are owned by Truist. The whole process is smooth and the cash is in your account the next day. They also don’t want to be lien holder on your titles. It’s almost like a personal loan with a lower rate. I have heard if you don’t have a fantastic credit score they aren’t great though. That is the only negative thing I read review wise.

Maybe a tad high. Good for retail but $1-3k high for private party.
I find that 1-3 is a good benchmark as well for dealer mark-up on top of private value. However, I've come across numerous listings by private sellers where they mark-up equal to dealer or even higher. Not even 1 owner cars. I suppose it shows they are not in a hurry to sell.

Don't forget the possible sales tax savings buying from an individual. Living in Arizona gives me the benefit if I buy from an individual and not a dealer. Living here in Flagstaff Arizona where the sales tax rate is 9.14%. yikes!

How does that work there? In Fla we declare the purchase price via a bill of sale when registering and pay standard sales tax on the purchase price. Obviously it's possible to fudge the number if the seller is willing (or doesn't do a B.O.S. at all,) but if you're going by the book you're paying the same rate for private or dealer. The only tax advantage here comes with trade-in value.

Still better than the arbitrary yearly excise tax we paid in New England.
