And check out my homemade acuator for the 61 locker in my thread.
I like the way this is going!!

I should have been more specific. I meant to say the internal locking mechanism, as in the locking collar and fork assembly, including how the teeth of the collar engage the side gear of the diff. I have pictures of the 80 series locking diff internal mechanism, not the 60 series version. Granted I have yet to search in places other than the 60 section.

Basically just looking for some detailed pics of a cable locking diff outside of the housing.

I will say though that I saw your custom cable actuator and I love it. I just may copy it:p

if you get to go.............pm me the details.

I need to :steer:

Going to Rausch on the 16th is going to happen come hell or high water. We're staying at the park so we don't have to pay for lodging. You in?

SICK!!!! RAGE FACE AT RAUSCH!!!!!

Shall I bring another handle of vodka?

I saw that video in the 80's section and was basically wondering if the collar / shift fork mechanism was the same.

Long story short, 80 series trucks have a problem with the rear e-locker in that with lifted trucks and big tires, with the locker engaged they tend to twist the rear axle shafts, preventing the locker from unlocking and forcing the owner to cut a hole in the housing to cut the collar apart in order to get the axleshaft out. My inquiry was going to be:

If the internal components of the 60 cable locker are identical as the 80 e-locker then do cable locked 60 series owners have issues with twisting the long spline rear axle shaft, preventing the locker from being disengaged?

This effect is said to be exaggerated by using PP rear axle shafts as they are designed to twist more before they break.

Does anyone with a cable locked rear have any experience running PP rear axle shafts? Have you ever had a problem with the long side splines twisting on you during mildly hardcore offroading?

I'd probably focus on getting a job first..... Spend every second you have applying following up working on your resume researching to find more places to apply... then you'll have plenty of money for everything else.

or.... spend your time looking for a rich chick.
