Whoop de doo's

Hey guys-

Just wanted to warn you that the Mojave Road west of Kelso/Cima Road to Beale Mountain and from Beale Mountain to Marl Springs is almost entirely made up of 1/2'-1 1/2' tall whoop d doo's. If you don't have a long travel pre-runnner you will be traveling between 7-15 mph for what seems like forever but is only about 6 miles to Beale and another 2.5 miles to Marl Springs. Tie your stuff down well and go fast, dogs love this stuff. :hillbilly:

The toughest thing about that section for me was staying awake:rolleyes: I found the perfect pace and felt as if I was being rocked to sleep. It took 1 1/2 Rockstar's to get through it:D

Bring LOTS of extra wood. Both Barstow and Needles forecasts are showing highs in the high 50's, low 60's and lows in the mid 30's every day! I've got three bundles. Sputnik is going to get a workout!

No rain shown in their forecasts, but with rain surrounding the area, it's always REAL possibility.

Weird i show showers and 40-60% chance for sat and sunday of basically all of SoCal.

You guys are going to have some awesome weather! Right now radar is showing snow in the New York Mountains and rain for the eastern half of the Mojave Preserve. Dave I am also showing partly cloudy for Thursday and Friday for Essex the same for Needles and more snow and rain for Saturday and Sunday as well. Woohoo, bring your tent heaters and snow shoes!

Sleeping in the truck baby - no way I'll turn on a tent heater in that enclosed space! Not enough ventalation!

LOL! Yes, I have dual batteries...for the fridge, not that it's going to need much juice at night this week!

IIRC I survived a DV night in the low thirties w/o issues.

After seeing that tread this past weekend, I can't blame you Stan! I gotta wait until bonus time in June!

Assume you went to see Amato again?

Jeff is out for this trip/ Calc test thur.
As for the tires, Amato is the place, where else can you drive off with new tires without leaving your wallet behind. It is a good thing his whole family has speeding issues.
