Had the opportunity to run the Mojave road last weekend with a great group of folks from Portal.

Slept in the truck because of the weather forecasts. Nothing worse than folding up a soaking wet snowy tent. It was snowing when we hit Mid High campground and was about 27 degrees. Here's what I woke up to the next morning in the truck. All the windows were completely covered in snow. I was nice and cozy dry inside the cruiser!

Cool pics Brent! I'm sure the Mojave Rd. was an epic run with all the snow. Yea, I ended up taking a run up to Pioneertown Sunday morning and getting some snow as well. There was a ton of snow up Burn Canyon Rd as well.

Love the looks of the sky in those photos. I really like it when the weather creates such beautiful landscapes.

The 'epic' shot of me driving up the road with the snow and clouds was taken by Mark Stephens of AdventureParents.com. I can't take credit for that one. It's just a beautiful shot!

I think this will be a good Birthday weekend next month!

Thinking of getting out to the start at Barstow on a Thursday night then running it all day Fri & Sat. Pulling into Laughlin Saturday night in time to play some tables then heading back Sunday afternoon.

Question:
A stock 4Runner can do this trip right?

Yes. We had a very old 2wd VM Bug conversion to a Baja buggy along and I believe a stock 2wd 4Runner as well. No problems.

Right on, I will be happy to strap them through any roguh terrain.

LOL - just tell the driver we didn't have to strap the Baja Bug at all!

Have fun!!! Hope Soda Lake is dry enough for you. Way to wet for this trip for us.
