With no takers for the above Mohican ride, I figured I would try to go to a favorite restaurant of mine, Coleman Fish Market, in Wheeling WV.... and do it on dirt. Posting here since this ride originated at Mohican.
Me and Garmin and the Ohio Gazetteer sussed out an on-the-fly route from the Mohican area to Wheeling that was about 80% (?) gravel or dirt. It took all day... lots of backtracking to try and minimize pavement.
I found some baller abandoned roads, one of which had 8-9 river crossings and some really challenging rutted / muddy sections.
I am posting from Wheeling at dusk, and I have cold weather gear to sleep in the back in case I can't make it home and the weather turns, as it looks like it's going to do.
