I have the opportunity to get a set of old 11.00R16 Michelin XS for 60€ a piece. They're too big for normal offroading, but for snow wheeling they should be fine. They're engineered to have floatation on sand, so I'd expect them to have similar properties on snow. I have two concerns though:
1. Is 38x11.5 big enough for sufficent floatation for a 2 ton vehicle?
2. Is the tread and rubber any good on snow, or will they just slip? Siping and maybe studding is possible options.

The tire is for trucks , not for cars !
They are heavy and stiff .
The rubber compound is NOT for wet surfaces and even less for snow .
I would stay away , and save the 60$ !
