Phase 1 of the summer cruiser mods has begun in the form of a new MT front bumper. After months of comparing the various front bumpers I decided to go with the MT for it's light weight, ac dryer protection, price and overall looks. It was very close between this or the Bump It Off Road bumper which is a very nice looking bumper as well. I am very happy with the decision and can't wait to get it out on the trail.

Next phase will be a new lift, tires and Satoshi grill mod.

Looks good!

Very nice Dan! Jealous!

That bumper is SWEET Dan! Let me know if you need / want any wrenching help.

Thanks Reid, we'll have to find something else as an exuse for another wrenching party.

So did El Dorado take care of you on the Powder Coating?

And don't forget to add the Treeroot grill mod to your Summer list.

I ended up going with R.W. Little only because I was very tight on time and they are only a mile from my house. I heard great things about both companies work including your endorsement of El Dorado. It's nice to have options for quality work.

Yep, the Treeroot (Satoshi) grill mod has been in the works for the last few months as i have time. I am going out today to get the clear coat for the frame and emblem. It will NOT be as nice as Treeroots as he has mad skills and attention to detail. But it should look better than the stock Sombrero chrome grill.

Next up, control arms are going into SD Trux on Tuesday to press in new correction bushings.:D

I love that grill. Shoot, I love that truck! Root's rig is by far my favorite 80.

Hey Dan,
Have you done the lift and tires yet? Also, I would love to see a side view picture of your cruiser with that new bumper on it. I just ordered my 4x4 labs rear today and my front will be next. Like you I am torn between the MT that you have and the Bump It Offroad.

Thanks,

Derrick

The OME 850/863 lift is on and the new tires just went on yesterday. I went with the GY Duratracs in the 285 flavor and so far love them.

I will try to get a few pics in the next day or so and post them up.

Here are the side pics of the bumper with new lift and tires. I'll be adding the 6" lights to fill in the gaps in the bumper soon and hopefully a winch sometime next year.

C'mon you can't sneak that grill past me..... Lets see a better shot of that! Looks like you went with the BIG TOYOTA lettering.

Thanks, I am finally getting it to where I have wanted for a while.

Nice looking ride. I really like that bumper! We will have to get the SD folks together soon so I can check out your rides and be jealous.

Thanks, jelousy is the first step in creating the mod list and draining your wallet.:D

Set up a meet n' greet. I put one together last year at the Stone Brewery in Escondido with a pretty good turn out. It's about time for another.

There is also supposed to be a swap meet in Ramona in the next few months posted up in the SD section where we can all meet up.

Yeah went with a 60 series emblem. You just need to come over to the house and check it out.:flipoff2:
