The heater tee debate seems second only to the “what tires” threads. I for one don’t get the metal tee argument. The plastic ones are made of the material as most of the radiator, and they’re a 15-20 year service item, just like other high-heat plastic parts. OEM ones fit perfectly, they’re affordable, and easily available.
I think folks believe the plastic ones are inherently bad because we’re always telling the noobs, “replace your tees,” but that’s just because the soccer mom or golf dad POs never thought about it and now the truck is 2 decades old and behind on maintenance. ‘Mudders do enough preventative work to know better.
Just use OEM tees and you’ll likely only ever do it once.
