OMG SOOOO much better!

It's not as nice as stock of course, but much better than running around with super heavy springs and 400lbs of cement bags in the back

By the way, if anyone reading is interested, the correct lugs for the Rock Warrior wheels are these guys: https://www.amazon.com/McGard-65315-Chrome-Spline-Drive/dp/B007QB5A42?tag=ihco-20

I'll ditch the TRD wheel locks and just use the splined lugs as I don't imagine they're a high risk of theft with the special tool needed for them. One less thing to lose and one less thing to break (like my wheel lock key did...)

The truck will be aligned and have the 34s mounted and balanced at the end of this week. The SPC UCAs should also be going in this week prior to the alignment. After that, and the sliders in a few weeks, I'm done for a while.

Got hit by a dump truck today.

No, there's definitely been some bad luck in the last few months. Hundreds of thousands of accident free miles and two vehicle totaled in the same season.

I think I'm generally OK. I have some soreness coming in by this point. Plan is to go to a hospital in the morning to get looked over.

damn dude, that sucks. I hope your okay

Man, that sucks! I'm reading through this whole thread for the first time, and I'm really digging the blue one...and then your last post. My condolences on your 100, but vehicles can be replaced. It did it's job and kept you safe. I hope everything checks out okay at the hospital and you're back on the hunt soon.

On the phone with insurances today. The truck is currently in an impound lot but I'm filing a claim with the carrier whose insured hit me and trying to get them to bring it back to my home. As of now my plan is to use my roughly $12,000 in receipts from the last two months to pump up the value as much as I can and keep the truck as salvage. I'll probably be out a good chunk in the end but I think I can retain a lot of the upgrades from Gira to put into the new truck. I started searching last night.

Number 3 is going to be a freakin' patchwork quilt made up of the other two trucks

If anyone has advice or strategy for this kind of circumstance. I'd be happy to listen.

RIP Gira

Sorry to see that, my only advice is get as many parts off of it as you can before it gets salavaged.

I had a friend who totalled out car that was less than a year old, he paid to tow it out of the impound lot to his house, took all the aftermarket parts off that he had replacements/original parts for and then had it towed to a body shop for the estimate.

That's a pretty sweet rig. With all of the road trips that I do though, the 100 is definitely the target. And he's asking about double what my budget for a new truck would be :(

look for one with a wrecked interior, and swap the parts over. You can find ones like that for pretty cheap too

Damn, sorry to see this!! Well good thing is you are ok, that's what matters. A nicer rig will come by, hope you manage to get back as much as possible. Good luck =)

That's what I'm thinking. I have a very nice interior in the blue truck. And brand new stereo. And suspension, wheels, tires, a bunch of other parts not yet installed. I just need a new truck with a solid underside, up to date maintenance, and decent paint that I can clean up. I don't mind doing the work on a decent truck that just needs to be fluffed.

Agreed. I'm opting to keep a positive outlook on the whole thing. It's pretty defeating, especially after the last one and all of the work into this one, but the pup and I are safe. It just reinforces that these trucks will take care of their occupants in a collision.

New 220A alternator is on its way in this week and I'll hopefully get it in before the weekend.

I'm pricing around for timing belt service now. I just got a price quote from a well known shop here that seems waaaay higher than I've been seeing in research.

Included in the quote were a few extras (spark plugs, radiator hoses, coolant) but altogether the quote's for $2360 for the timing belt service. Does this seem realistic or exorbitant?

I also had a quote written up to furnish and install a set of DT headers and studs. Again, I'd been seeing things like $1000 labor to install, but the quote's at $2350.

All seems very high. Any thoughts? Suggestions for good reputable shops in the metro ATL area?

Edit, I've just called the local Lexus and Toyota stores. Funny enough, Lexus was cheaper at $1350 and Toyota is at $1600. I'm disappointed with the quote from the independent shop as I was looking forward to working with them. They've got a great following.
Hi got a quote from Milton Martin in Gainesville Ga For 950.00 for the timing belt service..I have a friend that has done a couple for me over the years but he is really swamped now..That seemed like a good price from a dealer
