Will do! You'll have to come check it out, too.

I just made a deal with another mudder for a set of 285/75r17 Maxx ST tires. Great deal for a set of 5, very excited to see everything coming together.

You are doing this the right way, go ahead and get a bunch of big ticket items out of the way up front and then enjoy your truck, not this nickle-and-dime approach that I'm taking! Super curious to hear about the suspension. #jealous

Thanks! My plan was just that- I budgeted for certain work and upgrades to make the truck healthy, capable and comfortable for a long time.

Today I met up with Lee @ga12r1 to pick up some new rubbers for the big girl. Stuffed the back with all 5 and can't wait to get them on. Just waiting for the lift to show up in a few weeks.

Nice!! Those are great tires! Let me know when they lift comes in and maybe me and Camino can help you out.

Will do! I was lucky to score a good deal on the set. Also really cool to have the chance to meet fellow mudders in the wild.

I am really diggin' the blue! Jealous!

JT4runner has piqued my interest in paint correction, what did you use?

Nothing crazy. I haven't been up on new products for a while; there are all kinds of way cool polishes and sealants available now. I went old school/locally available with some Meguiar's Medium cut cleaner on a yellow foam pad with the rotary, then fine cut cleaner on an orange pad, and their ultimate compound with a white pad. I sealed it with a base of Klasse AIO on a white pad and then a quick shot with Banana Wax. Eventually I'll put a layer or two of Klasse SG on top of the AIO. Pics are from after step 2, I think.

Looks good! Now days there are so many options as far as brands for car wash, clay bar, compounds, polishes, sealants and waxes. I found a local brand out of Huntsville, Al and I purchased their compound and polish. When it is nice I plan to do a nice paint correction to it and possibly Camino’s LX.

Keep me posted on that. I've got two nice machines if you want extra hands. Who's the brand from Al? How do you like their stuff?

It is called Showcar. Yes I had their car soap and degreaser and on YouTube a guy in Nashville called Wilson Auto Detailing uses their products quite often and used their compound and polish on a 2001 white Sequoia and it looked amazing. My wife’s white Sienna and the LX need some good paint TLC. They are a small company and prices are decent for the quality.

Today my new spare wheel came in. A rear bumper and tire carrier is a ways out, so I'll need to keep it under the truck. Picked up the goods this afternoon to do the spare tire well mod. Bummer I ended up losing my chuck key, so no grinder for me to cut spacers right now.

I crawled under the truck anyway and noticed my OEM spare is already touching the trailer hitch I have. I need to look into hitch compatibility with bigger tires. Mine may not work.

Instead of running back to the store for a new key, I decided to do another project. I washed her and did a coat of CG Banana Wax. Then, I resprayed my wiper arms (all 3!) and the plastic cowl. No befores, but they were getting chalky. Beyond dressing any longer.

Next up is the fuel line heat shield a la 1meancruiser and figure out the hitch. I'd also like to respray the lower rubber window trim line. Is there an easy way to remove it so I don't have to deal with masking?

Today I took advantage of the 10% sale at WKOR and picked up a set of sliders. I went with the 20* angle as I don't need the step and would rather the clearance. Now to stock up on rattle cans...

Parts for the lift should all be in here by Friday. I'm debating starting this install Friday evening or Saturday morning. Any local guys have free time this weekend and want to spectate?
