looks great man. love the rack, and color scheme!!!

Did I miss it? Who makes the RTT? And how many does it sleep? Have you tried it out yet? My boys are getting old enought o go camping. We already have a few times. I have been looking hard at a RTT. I was thinking of a trailer for family camping. And a rack to mount the RTT. So I can tow my ECC flats skiff to the Keys and Glades.

It's a Mombasa Expedition tent which I will be testing out for the first time at the end of Sept for a beach cleanup I am attending. I plan to do some camping at the end of the year and I think it will be great to get off of the ground or out of the truck. The tent will sleep 2 comfortably, 3 is probably a crowd.

The rack is custom made from a fabricator local here to me in town. It was $400 plus another $220 shipped for the Gamiviti gutter mounts. I have no qualms about fitting 3 men on the roof. It does great on the trails when tress bump into the rack.

You've really got her looking good, Duc! I'm excited to get mine looking like yours.

However, in the unfair picture of my old Rover "losing", you can clearly see my reverse lights on :p

Gorilla,

They are secured using L brackets where the original anchor points were. I took the stock ones out and they sit flush with the left and right most platform upright. I'll try to take some pics but they are absolutely secure.

Matt,

It's a land cruiser forum, I had to add some bias in there :)

amazing!!! i love your 80! if mine looks half as good as yours then i will be happy. you really transformed your truck. what shocks are you running with the J springs? also on the first page, when you went deep into the water, did water seep in through the door seals?

I am running non-L OME shocks. I plan on upgrading when I get bump stops and extended brake lines, but other things are also on the top of my list right now.

And for your question about water in the truck, ABSOLUTELY. I am convinced that even new seals will not prevent water from entering your cab when sitting in deep water. The truck was thoroughly washed when I got home from the trip and all is well now.

I appreciate the kind comments!

Nice rig, and good thread...keep the nice pics coming!

I also wanted to add this pic of the dual LR cup holders I added this weekend.

I tried to update this thread as best possible with dates for my own record keeping.

Finally got my exhaust re-done at the local muffler shop along with adding a small amp and sub in the trunk. The radio is a lot better now for longer trips!

On those pro comp rock crawler rims, any idea of the backspacing?

On the old circle rims they were 3.75" and the new D ring summit racing ones they are 4"

Does the LR cup to rt of steering wheel get in the way of anything? Did you decide to use it vs the small storage bin and cover it up? I found it difficult to put a cup in it when it was in that spot.

It does not block anything and can fit a can of coke pretty well. The thing that I liked about the dual LR cup holders is that I can set my wallet, phone, lighters in the shifter area and it will not shift around when braking or accelerating.
