Ok I have 64' fj45 short bed.
It has 84 2f engine with the 5-speed h55 tranny. I'm running 33's tires. What's the best diff gear for this setup? I'm not sure what's in there currently.
4.10's , 4.56's or 4.88's (I think the 4.88's would be an over kill since I don't plan on running anything bigger than a 33" tire)

And can you fit 4.56's in the stock housing?

You should be ok with the 4.10 set up. 4.56s - 5.28s will fit, but probably not needed.

This solely depends on what you are going to use it for.

All purpose, I suppose. But not strickly a trail rig. I have 4.88's on my 84 fj60 but I'm running 35's on that.

4.10's would effect my highway speed, right? But how about with the H55 5 speed? Will that 5th gear make up for it.

you should already have 4.10 gears in the diffs, What axles are you running, are they the stock 64 axles or have they been swaped out for later cruiser axles? The more info the better.

I have 3.7 with the same tranny you are running but 4.10 will be a better choice. I'm have been wanting to do a swap but I've not been able to locate decent set from a fj62.
