I’ll visit this Cruiser wherever you put it. This thing is going to be awesome. I read somewhere that you are putting linked suspension on this. Are you using your existing axle housings?
That may happen later down the road. IF I do, I am sure it will end up with a set of Tons that I already own. HP60 front and a 14B rear. I have 4:56 gears and lockers for both. just sitting in one of my conex boxes. The ones that were in the Stretched one in this thread. I would have to swap the HP60 to a driver drop for the drivetrain to work. Or just build a low pinion front from scratch. Who knows. I have way too may puzzle pieces that I could make some really cool stuff, just not enough time to do it all. That is the reason the original stretched 40 has been sitting so long. I can not decide how to build it out. I have built and sold several 80's in the past couple of years. Decided to keep the last one, (96 triple locked with some goodies) It is kind of taking the place of what this stretched one was going to be. I still want a "wheeler", so that is where Lynchburg Lemonade came from. I am thinking of selling off the race car well, not many places on the "east" coast to play with it, at least for "go fast" stuff. It was not built for slow speed crawling.

Sorry to be so long winded.

I’m looking forward to chatting more about all of your projects. I was just telling someone over the weekend that I would never build another Cruiser, then moments later we started talking about the FJ28 wagon that I want to build. One stretched Cruiser for the rocks and another one for everyday driving and camping. But then again I am having a blast driving my 40 around. I can’t seem to stop driving it. Maybe that will be the case when Lynchburg Lemonade’s stretch is done.

You guys drive your 40s ? :hmm:

The stance is really nice on that truck. Where do you go to get 44 hardtops like that?
Thanks. I found it here on Mud in the classifieds.

We should have plenty of time at SAS, be better over a couple of cold ones! I look forward to it.

Hey guys, after a lot of thought and now having another stretched40, that I will actually wheel and drive, I have decided to sell this one. It can go many ways and I will post an official for sale thread on this later.

Not for sale:
6.0, H55f, split case, aluminum radiator
Hood (this came off the first 40 I ever bought, 30 years ago)

I have several options for drvetrain that could go in it.
5.3 6L80 combo
Later H42 split case
??
Currently set up with LS motor mounts. no crossmember

PM me directly so as not to clog up this thread if serious about purchasing it.

I will be heading to Colorado in August and may be able to get it out that far.

Rob

This is getting gutted. Wheels swapped over to my K5. Engine and tranny out.

Well... the time has come to move this down the road. It will live in TN and I hope it gets put back together. I think I like wheeling better than Cars and Coffee. I can not wait to see what the new owner does to it.

In the meantime my K5 is getting bumped up in production after I finish putting Lynchburg Lemonade together. I can not wait to see what the 403 stroker LS does in it!

This got loaded up and sold yesterday. The new owner is here on mud so we should see this completed! I was sad to see it go, but excited to have another mud member take it over.

As much as I am going to miss the stretched40, I sure do like looking at 4573 back in the garage! Only after opening it up down the street to blow it out. One neighbor just smiled and shook her head as I came by!😁.
