Tower of murder baby.
Any of you ever messed with one of these?

Maslow

Lets you control a router on full 4x8 sheets with a computer.

A guy I know "gave" me one, I suspect because he wants to be able to use it once I have it setup, but I can't complain.

Was thinking I could use it to make some 60 series interior panels once I figure out how the hell it works...

Most of my woodworking tools are a hundred years old, so this is slightly outside of my experience

Whole thing comes in a surprisingly small box.

I'll need to make a frame for it, but it should be pretty fun.

Hmmmm, I have a 4x8 sheet of 1/4” 5150 aluminum
Was lastly thinking of fancy full gutter roof racks, but that idea is gone away.
I have to get over to your place, I owe you a something. You working the weekend?

Mostly used for plywood and plastics, but with the right bits and speed maybe aluminum is doable... I've routered aluminum in the past, works but I wouldn't describe it as civilized.

I HATE my 61's cardboard and carpet door cards, so carving up a set of them might be on the list. Getting templates into the computer would be something I'd have to figure out how to do, but if I did it'd be pretty easy to bang out more sets.

Should all come out of a 4x8 I would think. Debating whether to ditch the boat in the shop, because small boats are more fun to build, and this thing might make some little rowing skiffs dead easy to knock out if I can find plans.

This is all a much later in winter project.

New furbag in the house so I need to spell off swmbo with keeping the little s*** entertained, shop time is a bit reduced at the moment

I might be around saturday, but if it's not raining like a mf'r I'll be way out back finishing off fencing. (see furbag above)

Ok see how Saturday works out. Supposed to have quelled the rain by then. 2 1/2” in the
last 48 hrs at our house. I’ve got interior panel issues too, have already looked into 1/4”
birch panelling, it’s really nice. That’s why I upgraded my nutserts tool to an industrial job.
I’ll have to bring it to show you. I want solid inserts so I can add cabinets etc in the back.

I made my door panels out of sign material (poly something sandwiched between two thin sheets of aluminum).

I used mahogany door skins when I redid mine on the 40. No fancy CNC setup... just a bandsaw and a disc sander.

The door skins worked really well, but more recently I picked up 1/8" Baltic Birch. It was similar in price but the plies are more even in thickness. Either would be 100x better than the 1/8" hardboard (over glorified cardboard) sh!te that Toyota used. If the Birch was a bit thicker it could be clear coated and skip the Vinyl. :grinpimp:

Aluplast/Alupanel

good stuff... can even print graphics on it. It cuts easily with an Olfa Knife.

Point of the fancy CNC setup isn't really the first panel. That'll have to be plain old bandsaw, same as ever, no big deal.

Point is that once a file is made and stored it's a couple of clicks to make more of them.

There's a guy in Australia who makes them out of some sort of ¼" grey plastic, but same idea.

I have some sheets of okoume, I might use that, but this is all a few months away at least anyways.

Ok, I’ve got two stripped rear doors just hanging out back. And a
stripped rear tailgate as well. I’m having coffee at 10, so might pop by after
