Low Country Folks,

The time for our Spring BBQ is quickly approaching! We need to start figuring out food and fixin's. Last time we did this, the barbecue was generously provided by Randy and Pam. This time around will be a bit different since they didn't win a raffle for free barbecue... We can angle for him to pick up the tab again, but I don't think I'll be successful. Anyhow.

Who can make it? This will be a potluck barbecue type of deal. Need to get a rough headcount so we can figure out the meat situation.

The barbecue will be held at Randy's (@Yardboy) Castle in Summerville. If you plan to attend, please PM me or Randy for an address.

The barbecue will begin at 3:00 PM.

If needed, we can do some light wrenching, but last time we spent the whole time chatting and telling lies about Tim. Hope to see everyone there!

RSVP's:

@ErikinSC +1 (committed via text)
@girraffe +5 (communicated with Randy)
@Yardboy +2 (providing charcoal, rub/spices for butt)
@CharlestonG8R +1 (Bringing mac 'n cheese)
@excessive (cooking something awesome, possibly with wood)
@Beau Diddly +1 or 3
@greenseaman +2 (tentative)
@wuagwan +1
@Eliot (probable)
@dbenke

Remember, a good story only has to have a truth factor of 10%.

I'm assuming this will be a family event, what time do we want to do it?

Edit: I'll be there, 2-4 people total. @CharlestonG8R, could you keep a running tally on your post of RSVPs and also post what side dish, dessert, or paper goods we're bringing?

We could purchase some from @bbqboy.
We have some funds, we just need to get it from @TailsWCU.
I'm thinking around 3,unless we actually want to do some wrenching.

For some reason it didn't tag @BBQ BOY

Bump to the top.

Make sure to put this event on your calendar and RSVP (with # in your party). We want to make sure we have the right amount of food.

The club can pick up the cost of the meat, but it would still be cool if everyone can bring a small side. Doesn't matter what, just something you like.

The temptation to come down and join you is great, but even greater is the possibility of our first grandchild coming that weekend!

Well I was thinking maybe I'd try and get down and meet everyone but I just checked my On Call calendar... and, I'm On Call.. Maybe next time. I wouldn't have had my 80 running for it anyway.

With any luck, congratulations will be in order that weekend! Very cool, sir. Very cool. Let us know if you, or anyone else up your way, want to come down and join us. We'll have plenty to go around and Randy has plenty of space.

we may be able to make it put me down for 2

Done! Thanks for the RSVP.

I should be able to be there, and I am a pretty good cook. Let me know what fixin's need bringing' .

What's your specialty? Any good at cobbler? I just watched The Walking Dead and I now have a craving for it...

dude, excessive earned the name Mayhem for his cooking skills up at the Swamp Fox Uharrie event. His main ingredient is wood.

If we have a good turn out which it looks probable, we will have elections at Randys.

Guys, need to know what everyone is bringing. Doesn't have to be homemade, doesn't have to feed an army. Randy is going to slow smoke a couple of pork butts starting Friday, so meat is covered for adults (and kids if they like pulled pork). Parents, if your kids prefer to eat hot dogs or burgers, please feel free to bring it and Randy will have his grill fired up.

Need the following before the BBQ: barbecue sauce, hamburger buns, plates, cups, plasticware, napkins/paper towels

This is a Bring Your Own Beverage event. The exchanging of beers is encouraged.

Food suggestions:

Cheeto's
Beans
Chili
Chips
Sliced Fruit
Veggies
Soft Drinks
chicken wings
Banana Pudding
Pie/Cobbler
Really, whatever you want to bring...

My Personal Legendary List:
@BBQ BOY 's onion rings
@Brock 's Venison Chili
@collk22 's Hippie Kale Salad
@JohnVee 's Championship Bean-Less Chili
@Teddy 's spare ribs
@Trollhole 's chopped pork
@forrest5000 's hot turkey sandwich
@lumbee1 's meatballs
@elkaholic 's vinegar based crack (BBQ sauce)

Ugh.. I wish we could make it but we already have something planned for that day.
