My turn.....my turn.....my turn !!!!!!
So, around 2001 we looked and looked for an FJ60 for about 6 months and finally settle on the blue brick that we found in San Luis Obispo, CA.
We paid too much for a rig that was not in the greatest of shape but we had already been infected with the cruiser virus and there was not much more we wanted to do other than drive this pig home.......YEEEEEEAHHHHH !!
At the time we did not know there was IH8MUD or any of the many other websites we all (or most of us) take for granted.........
We drove down the 101 and on flat parts of the hwy we could do 65mph but any other grade it would drop down to 55 to 45mph..... still we drove with a grin ear to ear for two hours back home !!!
As time went by, the virus took complete control and the sickness spread all around....... let the good times roll......
First mod was the (not Aussie) rear view mirrors... !!
Our first run was to the Whitney Portal in Lone Pine, CA on a winter day completely stock and on summer it was off to Yosemite NP....

A year later the engine went out and it sat on the driveway for about 9 months.. until I finally decided to have the engine fixed...
Another year went by and then a V8 conversion happen
3 years later after that an FZJ80 frame swap was done and about every other mod that you all dream up... i.e LED's in and out, take off chrome and black out, sound deadener, front seats, tuffy console, radio, tint, kill switches, 4runner calipers, braided brake lines, front and rear bumpers, inverter, LED reverse lights.
Some time between then and now we got a trailer that we painted to match our blue brick...

This is what she looks like now days !!
It has taken us to Alaska, Co, UT, DV and hopefully Belize this year and eventually to La Argentina con LOS GAUCHOS CHE !!!!!!
As it seats now 3.5 OME J springs 1" MAF spacer, 4" Slee heavy springs and 1" spacers, adjustable panhards front and rear, adjustable upper control arms, Land Tank caster brackets, Slee brake lines front and rear, MAF SS brake lines, V8, AT with AA Split TC, 100 series brake pads on the front, ARB bull bar, 4+ Rear bumper with two tire carriers and/or propane tanks, tool box or jerry can carrier, 46 Gal gas tank and WRX subaru seats !!!!
Still needs drawers, fridge, hot water system, OBA, sliders and fenders to keep the mud from coming inside the cab....
We have enjoyed this rig from day one but, most of it all, we have met and made friends with some of the most amazing people from the MUD community !!!
Thank you all for the great support we have found in this here website !!!
You all....... in a direct or indirect way have help with the build of this rig !!!
Cheers !!!!
