So I have the axle completely disassembled... took me awhile with dealing with the girlfriend and her daughter coming over.

So here it is now:

Here's the inside

Here's the diff ( believe it has 4.11 gears )

And here's my work station:

Both spindles are in great condition. I'll be ordering everything from Marlin Crawler ( $766.53 ) Which includes 5.29 gears, diff rebuild kit, all the gaskets, seals and bearings, Brakes and a triple drilled flange.

What was the reason of swapping in a fj62 axle? Is it wider than stock?

junking the IFS. the FJ62 axle is a 9.5 diff, and its as wide as the IFS. so theres no reason to swap IFS hub bodys, or run spacers.

Oh i gotcha, cool man.

Yeah, should be a nice rig when its done!

Just picked up a set of 5 FJ Cruiser steelies to run on my SAS when its done.

Random question... Is the fj62 front a reverse rotation axle? Also, is it different than a standard fj60 front housing?

Nice builld, I have always liked your runner.

I believe, and someone may be able to expand on this further, that all high pinon front diffs have reverse cut gears. I can't tell for sure what is on this one though?

This axle is a low pinion. FJ80s have a 8" high pinion.

Was planning on buying my SAS kit, then this happened:

Talked with Davez offroad and hes hooking me up with a 3 core steel radiator. and im going to contact autozone about their cheap radiator lol

How much room do you think you will have after SAS? Oil pan is looking like it may be getting a little claustrophobic.

Everything should clear just fine. Im going to move the steering box 1 or 1.5" forward. and possibly change the pitman arm. 3vzs normally dont have clearance issues... 3.4s usually do.

Just got my new radiator from Davez offroad... quality product for sure!

Copper/Brass FTW. Let me know if you ever want the CSF part # for the one's they make now.

Also, chuck that ringed fan ASAP and get a 94-95 without the outer ring. They like to come apart and throw chunks at the most inopportune times.

I actually just checked it last night for cracks, its actually surprisingly in really good condition. Im only at 165,xxx miles. If this one grenades, i'm just gonna go to one large electric fan or possibly two small ones.

Here's pictures of the new radiator. it fit perfectly, but it wouldn't fit with the fan shroud. the fan shroud wouldn't even bolt up to it anyway, the mounts were way off.

Hit me up next time you're down here or I'll let you know when we're going to head up fishing and I'll take a look at it b/c I can see the mounts not mining up with that aftermarket 3rd Gen Alloy/Plastic one but not the copper/brass one.

Get me a good resolution picture of the white mfg sticker on the lower tank as well as the part #??

I'd definitely put an electric fan on it since you can't fit a shroud on it.

I put mine up front so that it pushes through. It also opens up room at the front and make it easier to clean the radiator and work on belts and pulleys.

down where? heh where are you located? I took a picture of how the shroud doesn't line up on the mounts. The upper radiator hose hits part of the shroud as well, and the mounts to the shroud dont line up with where they are on the radiator. its off by a good 2-3 inches. lol

yeah thats what I was thinking of doing. I have a winch up front and the wires are ran through the grill. so I might need to move things around. not having a shroud doesn't bother me. I haven't ran into any issues with it so far. But when I do a blue sea fuse block, I'll grab an electric fan as well... wire that sucker up.
