I was reading a thread over on expo on cooksets, and I ran across the Magma stuff.
Top quality stainless, and quite popular with the boating crowd.
This is not light weight stuff like for backpacking, it is heavy duty.

You can get it with Teflon coating, but I stay away from that crap.
Here are two sets on Amazon.

10 piece
Amazon.com: Magma Nestable Stainless Steel Cookware (Set of 10): Sports & Outdoors

7 piece
Amazon.com: Magma Products Professional Series Stainless Steel Nesting Cookware Starter Set (7 Piece): Sports & Outdoors

Read the reviews for both sets, they get excellent reviews.
I bought the 10 piece set, it will be here Saturday.
This will fit my chuckbox very nicely.
Since I am not a weight wienie counting ounces, I appreciate that they are heavy stainless steel.

Did a YouTube search for Magma, and only found one video.
From reading the reviews some said you need to season these?
I did my cast iron stuff, not sure how to do this Magma set, but I am sure the instructions will have into.
I do not keep any oil in my place or chuckbox except for the spray oil, so I may need to get some some if it is required to season these.

My set just came, and I have it all hand washed and air drying.
They say the only seasoning you need to do is just wipe some oil around in the bottom of the pans.

This is a really nice set, probably the nicest set I have owned next to the $800 or so Lustercraft set which was stainless steel I bought back around '85 when married.

The set is a little bigger than I expected, the fry/saute pan is quite deep.
It is nice that it all nests together.
Not sure if it is all going to fit in my chuckbox when nested, I will find out later.
If not, I will just take what I need.

Again, this a a very nice set, much heavier duty than my Revereware I have used for eons both in the home and camping.

I have Cuisinart triply stainless at the house and I just very very lightly wipe a coat of oil on before cooking in. Or at least on the skillet.
I would avoid the spray oil(assuming you're talking about Pam type stuff). The other stuff in there builds up and is a pain to get off.

I've been looking at some nesting cookware for the truck, but I have the skillet already covered. Stuff sticks to stainless way too much.

It's between this and the snow peak though. How big is "too big".

Looks remarkably similar to this set;
http://www.amazon.com/Stansport-Premium-Quality-Stainless-Cookset/dp/B000HK50IU/?tag=ihco-20
which sells for a lot less.

I have the Stansport set in our trailer and it is very heavy duty. The pots have a heavy bottom that will hold a simmer without burning. They are not the usual flimsy stamped stuff sold as camp cook ware. I really like the way they nest together and the handle works much better than any other detachable handle cook ware I've ever used. For general cooking; pasta, vegetables, sauces, stews, etc they work great. The fry pan is as worthless as any other stainless steel pan for frying or sauteing, get a Lodge steel or cast iron pan for that kind of cooking.

For what you do and how you cook I'd skip camping cookware all together. Go to the restaurant supply and get a pot big enough to cook pasta for a crowd and a smaller sauce pot for vegetables, sauces etc.

This company also made a Teflon coated set, but I got away from non stick stuff long ago.
Have not had a chance yet to see if the whole kit will fit the chuckbox or not.
This is a nice set though that you can also use in the home.
It is not flimsy camping/backpacking stuff.

Thanks for the tip on the oil tclark.

I will try to see if this fits the chuckbox later today, and also measure the whole set.
The smaller 7 piece set would take up the same amount of room, just a few less sauce posts.

New cookset is around 7" high by 10.25" wide not counting the handles on the big outer pot.
Did not add that in since I can turn the pot to slide into the chuckbox.

When Pat built my box, he must have know I would pick up this set later :D
It did not fit the bottom shelf where I had two Revereware sauce pans and the Lodge cast iron skillet, but I was able to swap stuff from the upper shelf to the lower, and the new cookset just slides in on top along with the French press and a few other things.

So it all works out perfectly with my chuckbox and this new set.
Going to try the saute pan this coming weekend with either fried eggs or an omelet to see how it works.
With the cast iron I was able to just tip the pan and fried eggs would roll out.

Magma makes great stuff out on California. Pricey, but top quality, you get what you pay for.
Don't have the cookware set (yet) but do have one of their DelMar grills, a work of art, grills superbly and you can even bake in it! They also sell a great cookbook that is set up to allow you to get the most out of their products, too.

lol...damn I'm good...

I like this stuff...strickly for the amount of room it consumes!!

I'd like to know what you think after you use it once or twice.....why don't you drive in to see me in October and we'll give it a test!..

Where are you in October Pat?

Yes, I try to pack up the chuckbox with just stuff that will work for two or more people, and some of this space saving stuff is very nice.
Just ordered this, it will be here tomorrow.
Magma makes one too that nests inside, but I did not need one as big as it.

Hello All,

Magma here! We would like to thank you for the great comments about our products. It is always great to see what the consumer’s really think.

We have been in business for over 35 years as the top manufacturer of boat BBQ's and are very excited to be expanding into the Camping/RV industry and are very proud of our Nesting Cookware Sets.

Corey thanks for the pictures! It’s like the chuckbox was made to fit your cookware set!

For those with concerns about Teflon, we are introducing new cookware sets with Ceramic Non-Stick coatings. They are available in Stainless Steel, like the one Corey posted, or with Cobalt Blue enamel, for those who like a little color! Optional pieces are also available, like the Stainless Steel Colander and Omelette/Sauté Pan; both nest in all Magma sets. Available this coming January.

Also, we have a great new Camping grill, the A10-603 Adventurer Series Grill, for those of you who like to grill up some hamburgers and dogs while outdoors. They are made with the same high quality that we are known for, at an even better price! Available now in Gas or Electric.

Thank you guys for the continued support! If you have any questions or concerns about our products, please contact us via this thread or email us at mail@magmaproducts.com.

Hey, thanks for checking in, and you are welcome.
I like how it fits the chuckbox.

I might be interested in another set, the ceramic one sounds interesting.
I have seen a commercial before on TV for some ceramic cookware for the home where the guy rolls the rocks around inside, then cooks an omelet and rolls it out.
Is the technology similar with your ceramic coating?

The cobalt blue sounds cool too, I have four of those blue steel coffee cups, that would match.

Looking forward to seeing them in January, and will Amazon be carrying them?
Also you mentioned a small omelet/saute pan that nests inside.
This is optional to the big saute pan that forms the lid?

Pan is oiled up, will be testing it with breakfast tomorrow morning with a 3 egg omelet :D

I have the same set as Rusty and so far no complaints. Could use another handle though.

Magma makes killer products, for sure.

Hi Corey,

Thanks for the reply!

Yes – Magma’s Ceramic Non-Stick Nesting Cookware sets are similar to what you see on infomercials/ads except they are a higher grade ceramic. Ours are designed to withstand the elements therefore; we use a higher grade stainless steel and ceramic non-stick.

I have posted pictures of Magma’s Cobalt Blue cookware set. They are currently available with Teflon non-stick and all-stainless steel. The ceramic sets will be available January 2014 and will be available on our website and through many retailers, including Amazon.com. The Omelette/Sauté Pan is slightly smaller than the 10” sauté pan and nests inside this pan. I have posted a picture of how it would nest inside your set.

Also wanted to let you all know, that we are now offering Induction Cookware Sets. Because many new RV’s and Yachts are installing induction cooktops, our cookware sets are now available for use with these types of appliances. Although they are designed for induction cooktops, they will also work on Gas and Electric stoves.

Thanks again for your comments.

Thanks for posting.
I will be interested in the ceramic one with the smaller saute pan when it comes out in January.
Now the decision will be either the cobalt blue, or stainless steel again.
That blue does look sharp!

Pat, really great stuff.
