Just an FYI: I just bought a MAF sensor for US$220 (C130,000) direct from the agency here in Costa Rica for my 97. This does not include the MAF body, just the sensor. (Naturally, it turns out my MAF was fine. What I needed was US$15 fusible links.)
thanks a ton. i have to dig into the material i have here. can i please ask where the fusible links are located?
i need to print out the service manual or manuals and start to wrap my head around car sized mechanical and electrical...

On the battery. They are wires that serve as fuses.

Search for, then download the PDF "Emergency Start Procedure". It explains these well

what are the results for the CRC MAF spray please? is this PM? or don’t mess with it if it is not throwing a code...?

It's probably not a bad idea for PM. Check that the product you are using is for MAF sensors, the process may involve soaking them overnight.

If your going to do the MAF, you may as well do the 02 sensor as well, but be careful of what product you use, I believe they don't like fluoro carbons and certain chemicals.

Idk I’m sure it works but if no code don’t mess with, only 95 and up obd2 have a maf. Your early obd1 trucks have is vaf don’t touch the screws on it
