River Walker is out, looks like they're doing some exploring off Hwy 20. Drew emailed, they are fine, pretty much at Anahim Lake. Says they needed to stop for repairs... can't wait for the story

Ought to be some good stories from these guys, glad to hear that they reported in.

Report

We are in Tatla Lake getting supplies. We had to do several trail repairs , U joint, rad hose, alternator, voltage regulator fix - Mat tore out a shock and cut sidewall and has had electrical problems. Lots of winching, major mud bogs, off camber and days of chain-sawing. There are 4 fires around Alexis Creek, we are trying to avoid winding our way back now. Everyone OK.

Wow, thanks for the update Glenn. Safe travels to all.

Hang tough web wheelers

We logged about 2,300 km in total, including many hundreds of slow 6 to 9 km/h trail. I think we are all very tired and reports on the trip will take some time as we all have to unpack, clean, and repair a lot of equipment.

Glad to hear everyone made it out safely. Sounds like this one was an epic. Looking forward to the report almost as much as you guys are looking forward to a good sleep back at home.

Just got home after spending a night at Sopel's to unwind and finally get a longer night's sleep. The trip was epic and Glenn, Bill and I will work on a write up together so be patient. Damages were had by almost all to some degree but we have made it out and home.
I won't spoil the story but just say that the trip was amazing, tiring, trying at times, rewarding and worth doing. We all have learned more about our limitations, trucks, and each other, managed to add to our existing skills and worked hard as a team to make sure the journey continued for everyone.
Thanks for the adventure guys.

Our trip through the McKenzie Heritage Trail was fabulous. One point of interest is that there was a man, Mike Beech, walking the trail with his pack horse, Fred McIntosh. Most days our average speed was about 2 km/hr, due to fallen trees and mud bogs, and we were often passed by Mike & Mac during the day.:D

:clap::clap:I have to acknowledge the work done by Mat, Glenn, Ronald, Gary, and Drew as above and beyond the call of duty. They never hesitated to lend a hand to anybody in need, and they cheerfully solved the many challenges we encountered. It was a great teamwork effort. An example of this was shown below as the team repaired a rickety old log bridge with better decking they scavenged. Here, Ronald, Gary, and Glenn are busy making it happen.

Here is an unidentified team member scanning a skin magazine found at an abandoned homestead.:rolleyes:
There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who toil for gold;
The Chilcotin Trails have their arctic tales
That would make your blood run cold.
