Looking at picking up a ‘06 LX470 with 94K miles on it for 25k.

However, it’s got some pretty bad flaky rust on the undercarriage.

Would appreciate your advice - remediate or take a pass?

Pics attached.

Thanks!

DON'T BUY RUST! And especially for that asking price.

We've said it here a million times. And that is just the rust you can SEE.

Be patient, spend your money on a vehicle that wasn't used in the rust belt or areas where they salt the roads.

Look to the Sun States. Find a good vehicle, buy a plane ticket and drive it back or have it shipped, you'll be much happier for it.

That much rust, in the mountains I'd be afraid to hit the brakes and have one or all lines explode.

That's too much rust for me, and I live in Maine where even the rust rusts.

I've stuck with the motto of "if I have to ask if it's too much rust, it's too much rust."

Lol, 25k. #dontDoIt. Positive is at least the rust isn’t hidden. You’ll shell out 5-10k in just non mechanical base lining/parts refresh. So after baseline and a few years youll
Be in it 40k and it will still be rusty.

Holy moley I'm from Maryland and am pretty rust-tolerant but that one is rough bruh...hard pass, especially for that price
