CG 98-07 Lexus LX470 Dual CCFL Halo & LED Projector Headlights - Black

Lexus Lx SUBZERO LED 02-AZ-LL98-PBC-RFN-A-LED ccfl halos, a clear black color, projector, led bulb and 4.5 star reviews

...I believe these are all the same, just different places selling them.

I like the idea of a full plug-and-play alternatives to taking a dremel and other tools to my headlights to upgrade them. The price seems a bit "too good to be true" for quality...

Thoughts?

I've been wondering the same thing. But I don't think the halo ideas. I'd wish we could have some installed pictures.

In almost every plug and play "projector" headlight upgrades I've seen/bought, the light output is worse than stock. I imagine these are a similar situation. You get cool black headlights with all the fancy LED's, which is what people actually buy these for, not for light output.

Feel free to be a guinea pig for the forum, but I wouldn't expect quality or good light output.

The only way you going to get a good output is to retrofit. You can by a plug n play hid kid & change the lens to get better than stock output. I retrofitted my truck with SC430 projectors and when I pull up beside other lx owners with stock headlights, my lights make their lights look like they have the daytime running lights on

Besides the fact that I very much doubt this is an upgrade in terms of light output/quality, these will really cheapen the look of you truck.

The LX already has the benefit of having a quality projector based headlight. I would just toss in some up-rated bulbs, based on whatever technology you may like, and call it a day. I personally went with some better halogen bulbs, and I've never been wanting for more since.

Good points being raised. Personally, I don't really care about how it "looks". I would be interested in improving the light output/quality in a reliable, high quality fashion...

...but if I were a betting man, I'm guessing the "solutions" I referenced may not be the answer. I only wish someone offered a truly high-quality plug-and-play upgrade option for those of us with less dremel and headlight baking skills.

Honestly, the HID conversion and lens swap might be for you. All that is required is purchasing an HID kit, throwing it in, then baking your headlights and swapping out the lens. While it may seem intimidating, it really is a :banana: job. You won't get the "awe inspiring" output from doing a full retrofit, you will double the output of your stock projectors.

This option will be cheaper and pay off in the long run compared to those "bro" headlights.

& you are absolutely correct. I've done the lens swap with the hid kid & tolerated for a few yrs. Gotten tired of it then did a total retrofit in which everything basically lined up with no extra modifications. I have a build thread on here about my work. It's called retrofitted LX470 with SC430 projectors

Ive seen your thread and love it! The only problem is finding SC's for a good price, which I have not been able to. The TSX swap is nice, but requires you to cut up your stock projectors.

Thats why the OP's best choice might be just the lens swap and conversion.

Did you try to Google to see if any retrofit companies have any? Like hid illusionz, the retrofit source. Last I checked hid illusionz had some for $250. I went to hid planet & posted I was looking for some & one of their members responded.

Probably the same headlights in this thread In black instead of chrome.
LX 470 City Slicker Upgrades
I don't think any after market light matches OEM quality. Always see cheap anzo tailights with burned out LEDs and/or anzo headlights that glare 1/2 a mile away on trucks around here

If you're already baking your headlights to swap lenses, it's only a few more hours work to fit TSX's... and virtually no extra time if you find SC430's. I don't view cutting up the stock projectors as a bad thing... it's very straightforward.

I didn't mean to imply that it would be easier to do JUST the lens swap, just that it would be the cheapest option for greatly improving output. I completely agree that fitting TSX's or SC's is worth the upgrade if you can/want to swing the cost for the new projector. The main thing I was trying to say is that the OP looked like he was looking for a plug and play or bolt up option. While you do have to bake the housings, the lenses technically "bolt up".

But hey, if your cracking into the housings, might as well throw in the best light you can afford.

I purchased a set of Eagle Eyes a couple of months back after looking at having to replace my drivers side OE headlight due to stone damage. Since the Eagle eyes were less costly than a single replacement OE headlight I decided to give them a try and have not looked back. They do have the Angel eyes but I haven't bothered to hook them up. I also swapped all the bulbs that came with them out for bulbs that were higher output and white in color output. Lastly the only issue I had was adjusting them properly due to the location of the up / down adjustment wheel which is especially difficult to reach on the driver side with the battery in place.

Use a long Philips screwdriver
Actually I tried several options stubby, short, long and right angle in the end if you release the battery you can lift it 3-4 inches by wedging something under it and that provided enough room and the correct angle to access the adjustment wheel. On the passenger side a small length screwdriver worked fine
