Why are they not SMOG compliant? They still run both O2 sensors and are compliant with CARB standards

They didn't pay the extorti-- I mean they didn't pay for CARB certification and include a little 2 cent sticker. Instead of sending the exhaust through the cats, it will just seep out through the cracks in CA. Really smart.

Did my drivers side today. Well, I concluded it today. All in all it’s been over a week with stud soaking and stoping myself before I made an error. Getting torque is all but impossible on a few nuts. I got them as tight as I could. Still haven’t gotten the dipstick back in. Walked away before I lost
My 04 LC with 210k is throwing p0430 consistently and I don't very much ticking but i know i have some exhaust leaks probably at the header. DT headets seem good but can you giys recommend downpipes with cats? Oem or aftermarket? Parys are adding up beyond the value of the car but she is priceless to me.
Think guys go with the magnaflows for aftermarket ones. Never priced it out though.

I have the factory cats and a cat back from magna flow. It too loud.
I have the factory cats and the Borla cat back. Its not loud enough for me, just a little more than stock.
Same for me, but I never heard mine with the factory muffler. When I bought it there was enough of a hole in the stock muffler that I noticed no difference in sound when I removed it and drove with basically open cats. I was quite disappointed with just how quiet the Borla was, but waiting to get my DT headers installed to see if there's any improvement before I make any other changes.

FWIW, I only heard a small difference in my exhaust note with my DT exhaust going from stock to DT headers. Definitely noticed a power bump but not much from a sound standpoint.
I used a green Scotch pad and scrubbed it off.. Worked perfectly.

I have an 03 with 145k on it now. I picked it up in South Dakota from an old couple that bought it new. Frame rust is manageable from the salty winters, but I’m definitely dreading the rusty manifold bolts s the exhaust is now disintegrating and needs replacing.
It sounds like Thorley has done group purchases for the headers over the years for these? Are there currently any group’s looking for more buy ins that anyone is aware of?
