Lutz Auto Plug and Play Speedo/Odo correction solution

Just saw this on Dissent's IG and ordered one. No cutting of wires, fixes the odometer as well as the speedo and very fine adjustment increments. Unfortunately, I won't get to test it for a bit as I'm in the middle of the longest supercharger install ever but looking forward to a good solution here.

Finally a solution for our 200 series! Look forward to hearing how it works out. Not sure what Lutz Auto means when they say: This product only adjusts the speedometer/odometer rate and does not adjust cruise control speed for assisted cruise control vehicles. I am going to ask them.

Wondering if this only fixes the dash/speedo/odometer. There's other ECUs on the canbus like AHC and stability control that could benefit.

Looks like it intercepts just like the Hypertech unit. The adjustments will only appear on the dash, not the various ECUs. OBD2 read speed/mileage will likely report the non adjusted values.

Bryan at Lutz Auto replied to my question on what This product only adjusts the speedometer/odometer rate and does not adjust cruise control speed for assisted cruise control vehicles means.
"The adaptive cruise control will work exactly how it does currently. The middle display on your gauge cluster will still show the incorrected set speed when you set cruise control. The unit will not affect your cruise at all. This unit corrects the speedometer and odometer at all times."

Installed in my 2013 LC today. Not hard to do at all. I don’t think the first step removing the 3 screws from the steering wheel area is required, btw. 6.5% positive increase puts me spot on with 35s.

Install notes:
1. When removing the gauge trim the right side camera connector was easier to remove than the left side lighting and trip meter one. Do the right side first so you can rotate the cluster to make access easier to the left side. Otherwise the instructions are basically spot on
2. I left my adjustment remote connected. I put a little 3M VHB tape on it and stuck it inside an opening in the left panel you remove early in the process. This way if I ever change to 37s I only have to open the drivers door and pull that plastic panel on the left side of the dash to access it
3. I left myself setting and reset notes on the backside of that panel because 5 years from now I’ll never be able to find the instructions.

I had a similar gizmo on my 2014 Tundra which shares the same drivetrain for the most part.

For me, in THAT scenario, correcting the speedo was cool and all, but the main benefit I liked about it was it put the tranny shift points back to normal and it will wasn’t constantly hunting for the right gear. Sold the truck shortly after install, but REALLLY wish I would have done it a lot sooner

Unsure of 200 gizmo does the same, but would be huge if it did

Yep. Easy to do with techstream. It would be difficult to do with the steering wheel fully retracted

I doubt it. There’s no ECU interface, it just intercepts the display signal and adjusts it as far as I can tell

Interesting, both my 2014 Tundra and 2020 Ram showed HUGE tranny shifting improvements after correcting Speedo

I’ll keep you posted if I notice a difference. But given there’s no radar cruise correction I’m assuming this only intercepts what’s being displayed, not what’s being reported.

I assume my MPG will adjust but I’m actually curious if that’s the case. I’ll know when I take a trip in a week.

Since this corrects odometer rate, would that mean if you uninstall it in the future (or it for some reason dies/breaks) your mileage would suddenly reduce back to what it thinks it should have been without the correction? (And I also assume it's not like it suddenly displays higher mileage from the adjustment)

My Tundra had the same drivetrain as my 200, so I’d like to think it would work the same
