Lower Tailgate Interior Panel Removal (1 Viewer)

Has anyone removed the interior panel on the lower tailgate (2013 LC)? I dented the lower tailgate a bit and believe I can improve the size of the dent if I can get in there. Tried removing the four screws under the cover, but with the panel not moving at all I thought I'd ask here before doing something else I regret...although the dent is beginning to grow on me.

There are plastic clips the go around the perimeter. A plastic trim tool will help in the removal.
