Gar,

I love your sig line "i understand that j#%p thing, thats why i drive a toyota" There's a guy here at the school in Guatemala. His J**p goes in the shop about once every month or two and we fight over who gets to NOT drive the J**p! Ended up towing it in last time 'cause we only made it about 1/2 way before it died completely!

Mexico NEVER had 'Cruisers but you should have seen some in Belize and if you travelled furrther you'd see even more!

I just called Atkinson & Terry Insurance for an insurance quote for this event. Apparently, they don't need to see a non-profit status for our Club to insure this event. They just want to know what we're doing, where, etc. I told them the ramp will be optional and will be deleted from the event if it poses a problem for getting getting insurance. I told them Coastal Cruisers will be organizing the event, and that I can be listed as the organizer for insurance purposes.

They will contact me tomorrow with the quote, and if it's reasonable, then I will find out from the Surrey School Board how much it would cost for us to rent the parking lot of North Surrey Secondary. If the costs are reasonable, then I will email the vendors to see who are interested in showing up for the event. I haven't sent out the emails yet...so please don't feel like I left you out. :) I'm trying to get as many as possible to show up. Thanks for your patience.

You can also get a rider on the TLCA insurance for this event if need be.

Sorry, Bruce...don't know what that means. Would you explain that concept for me please? Thanks.

One of the benfits to being a Chapter of the TLCA is access to their insurance. Its one of the reasons to have TLCA events. If your club had a chapter delegate, he/she could tell you all about it. (I'm pretty sure Ratpuke will be running for the job now that she has jumped ship and joined you guys)

Ah, what the hell, I'll pretend to be the CC delegate. You want to put in an application for your event to be approved as a "Rally Event" Once approved you have the following...

5. Privileges:

a. Free advertising in Toyota Trails (maximum 2 each ½ page insertions).

b. Access to TLCA trademark and logo.

c. Access to TLCA insurance.

d. Access to Seed Event Moneys. A one time donation to the first running of the

event.

Its late to get your applicaion in (six months in advance) but likely not too late.

go to http://www.tlca.org/board/sops.html and check out all the details.

I saw the pics of river shiver in the most recent Canada 4 wheel drive mag, awsome.

Good coverage for such an event.

I just got the a quote on the T-s***s. To do the logo on the back and somthing writen on the left chest is going to be $500 and the Art work about (estimate) $180.

Thats for 100 white Teeshirts with a 2 colour logo ( to go with a three color logo as originaly planed would cost more  .

plus tax

Jim

And these are very good quality, and its a screenprint.

lets figure out how much we need to initially invest between some of us and do that. i'll cough up bills if need be (i'm not TECHNICALLY part of the club yet)

Thanks chug but at the meeting we decided that the club was going to cover all the costs (insurance, rent, T-shirtrs etc) hopfuly all this monies will be made back.

Every thing is aproved at the meeting so if you want to start booking places STone go right ahead.

I'll order the shirts once we have some of this stuff booked.

Thanks Jim. I heard from Greg today. And Chels...when are you coming out to a meeting? We could use a good guy like you. :)

I've received the insurance quote...and it's withing the cost budget. She said that there is no time limit to the quote, and suggested I take out the policy closer to the event date. So the insurance base is covered.

I've verified that as of today, the parking lot at NSS is available for August 13th...I'm going to fill out the application form and fax it when I get to work this afternoon.

I guess go ahead with the shirts, Jim, as it looks like this thing is going to happen.

Thats awsome that it's a go, I'll definitly be there. make sure you guys post an information sheet in as many places as possible, espesially toyota parts departments.
Cheers,
Deny

Hi All:

So, what is the status with this event? Decided on a date yet?

If in June, please don't choose the weekend of the 17, 18, & 19 - the Seattle Cruiserheads is planning a trip to the Naches area of Washington State for 'wheeling (which Coastal Cruisers folks are welcome to join us for.)

You might do the event t-shirt in a colour more forgiving of being around vehicles, like ash gray, or black (I swear if I open the hood of the 'cruiser while wearing a white shirt it has a spot on it almost immediately!)

Regards,

Alan
