Lower Mainland Cruiser Trade show?

I hear what you're saying, Steve. I think a liability waiver would be a good idea. I was thinking of the ramp thing more of a cool way to see how well a person's rig flexes, not really a competition...although I was thinking of recognizing the best RTI scores. Many of us haven't ramped our trucks, and it would be cool to be able to finally do it and find out our score.

I'd be willing to help out organizing it for sure. Like I said, it would be a good oppurtunity for the vendors to showcase their product/service in this kind of event...especially if it turns out to be well attended. If the vendors could get together and share the cost of the event, which should be minimal, then I don't see why this couldn't happen this summer.

As far as time goes...how about we start throwing out some dates for discussion? I'm offering up August 13 or 14th (Sat. or Sun.). ???

And I never turn down an opportunity to fish. :D

What about T-shirts, I alrady talked to a guy at Flashpoint Screenworks (I think). he said it would probably end up at around $10 a shirt ( if we ordered over 99) for the symbol Deny made on the back and something small on the front chest, could sell em for $15 at the show to make some

I could get the shirts rolling, if the club wants it

Gar mini trucks :ban:
You cruiser is gona be done by then any way, specially with ramp test motivation :grinpimp:

Jim

I want to post it, but I'm scared people will start using it for other thinks, like there are a couple tlca clubs that all have the same symbol, like someone just copied the picture off the web. (not that the drawing is so good) I'll send it to you stone, and see what you think.
Cheers,
Deny

Deny...I received your email, and that drawing is SWEEEEEET! I'm excited...I hope this thing gets off the ground this year. People will want to wear those shirts! :D

That's some talent you got there.

Thanks Man,
I'll bring a picture to the meeting. We Figured for ten bucks a shirt, you could buy a few, and just wear them around the house, cause they'll be cheeper than most shirts, and cool to boot. Also, there are almost no logos or cruiser shirts with a 45, so we thought that would be cool. not that we're tired of the good old 40. If the cruiser show does good this year and we continue, we could always put a different series as the logo each year.
Cheers,
Deny
OH ya just to let you in on a little secret, I'm really not that pro an artist, the trick is to trace a picture of a real cruiser so that the lines look right, and then just add a few mods.

I vote for July 1st weekend. Do it on Friday afternoon July 1 and then the folks from the Island can attend and still have a couple of days for wheeling on the mainland, same goes for folks south of the line. That way I can attend too after all I've got the furthest commute by far!!!

July 1st is a huge getaway weekend. The Coastal Cruisers are talking about a run. Not sure there would be many particpants (vender or otherwise) for a one day event on a 3 day weekend...

With Ya.........

My suggestion also would be to contact all venders, try and figure out roughly costs.

Ball park the whole thing as it should be pretty minimial, lets see who all is interested.

Sure...But...

If the club is going to host this, I don't think any vendors should be involved in running it, other then to assist with little stuff, have their own booth, etc.

I believe that was part of the downfall of the Cruiserdays hosted by Patty Toy; More and more vendors coming in on what "was" a Landcruiser appreciation day sponsored by a Toyota Dealer.

Don't get me wrong...a trade show/vendor/appreciation day would be funky...I simply think if the club is going to host this, then to keep it clean and eliminate any hard feelings, or potential conflict it should be run by a committee of "non-vendors".

If any vendor wants to take this on as a showcase of wares and have a get together, great...Don't call it a Coastal Cruiser LandCruiser appreciation day though. Some of the local Show-n-shines are a good example of this, can be great marketing and a way to give back a little.

In either case, it would be nice to have a gathering for local folks.

The club meeting came up with little results as usual, some people suggested september, some earlier. Personally, I think June, like the old show used to be would be the best, as kids are still in school, and less people would have plans or be on holidays. But I would be ok with August as long as it's not a long weekend, and I think September is too late, and as Steve mentioned the weather becomes crappy. As for a place, some people mentioned Coquitlam, But Stone, it looks like its up to you to set a date, and book a place, so just talk to a few vendors what would be good for them and yourself and what is available, and run with that. And like Radd says pick it soon, so people can start planning. Everyone seemed pretty pumped about a Cruiser show thou.

I kinda got the same feeling from JP guys, to many vendors when it was thier show.

And I really did not want to show up and pimp goods anyways, just meet and shoot the crap.

Lets do it.........

I like early summer too but that might not give enough time, so august sounds good.

At the meeting it seem everyone thought there was a lot to do :crybaby:
I say no, just three

1 pick a date
2 pick a location
3 tell every cruiser head you know, and post it up some places

These three is what the club would be responsible for, not complicated at all :grinpimp:

And if some cruser heads or vendors want to sell sh*t do it, all they have to do is tell the club their coming or post it up here, and its up to them to bring tents and crap for that.

I wana see some trucks this year!!! :bounce: :bounce2:

If I could do this with a couple of other guys in the Club...I'm all over it. Give me a clear indication that everyone is in concensus that this should happen, and which guys are responsible for it, and I'll start some serious planning. Is there any Sponsorship Money available from the Liberals for this project? :D :flipoff2:

Who would not like June? Dinna matter which month to me, as it's a 50/50 crap shoot due to anticpated shiftwork...

Find a charity that wants to make a few bucks to supply pop, dogs, chips, and such...
