Greetings everyone...it looks like I have decided to sell the Dune Coon. Does anyone know of someone currently in the 40 market. I have a couple of potential leads, but can always use more. I am torn about selling it, but things are much different over here in Dallas and with the exception of the rare trip to Wal-Mart, she just sits in the Garage.
Thanks,
Eric

Whatta you askin for it?

me

I am going to post it in the classified section in a couple of weeks. I am going to ask 12,500 with a little room to move. I of course will take a pretty good loss on all that I have done to it, but we all know that going into it. For those of you that saw it in Arkansas a couple of months ago, you know what it looks like and what condition it is in. I did just get the carb re-built by Butch Baker (founder of Lone Star Landcruisers) in Bonham, TX, so she purrs like a kitten again. Within the last 12 months, I have also had custom sliders made that bolt to the frame and the full metal tech cage with the frame tie kit and the seat belt tabs for the rear (for shoulder belts on the bench seat). If anyone is interested, please let me know...or pass along if you can before I get up to putting it on mud.

I also want to use some of the money to put into the FJ cruiser. It is in need of some goodies! Also I have pictures of everything. From original day of purchase from Scott to being in a ton of pieces to be painted to how it sits today.

Thanks,
Eric

Truly is a good rig. I have pictures from the day of my purchase from Arizona.

God luck w/ the sale bud

My friend sent me the link. I didn't notice the date.

I hope he still has it so you can scoop it up, it seemed like a pretty good deal.

Like Mike said... I'm searching, but I just don't know how far I'm going to stretch my budget yet. I'll definitely check it out, but I may not be the most likely candidate at this point. Send me some pics if you have them handy (mfreyder1 at gmail dot com). I would love to check it out. And, best of luck to you!

Your budget will stretch. Just wait until you start buying 2 or 3 or even more. Get out while you can, it's a sickness.

Come on Isaac....don't scare off the new guy yet. Frey, don't listen to him. He travels all over the world and I think it's getting to him........ :hillbilly:

Haha! I think he's right, though. Just a few weeks ago, I was looking at a $4k FJ40 in NOLA and now I'm looking at $10k+ rigs like I've got a money tree in my backyard.

It's too late. I've caught the sickness. :steer:

The $4k rig in NOLA is a dark blue (I think) owned by a policeman, right? Have you looked at it? From what I'm told, it's got a good bit of rust. Yeah, I can hear it in your posts now after only 11........you've caught it. Might as well give in to it now. It's just easier this way.......... :bang:

Yeah, he was a real nice guy that had good intentions to restore, but little time/money for it. He let it go for $3k before I took the opportunity to drive it, but I think the rust was a little heavy for me. I think if I would've known he'd take $3k right off the bat, though, it might be in my driveway with a 'Welding for Dummies' book on the front seat.

You should be glad you passed on that blue one. It was a lot of rust and work. Keep looking!

x2 Saw a couple pics of Eric's rig on here last night, in another thread. Real nice!

I am in NJ right now, so I don't have the pics to post. But PM me your e-mail and I'll have my wife send you a bunch of pictures. I think I have a sell pending for MUCH less than the 12,750. If it falls through you may want to rake a serious look at it. The good news is that there aren't too many people in the club that aren't familiar with the rig and can let you know the history and condition.
