Anybody got any tie rod ends for a 40 laying around? Or know where I can get one fairly quickly? I need the one that goes to the pitman arm. We tried the local stores and they are saying 3-5 days. My 40 is stuck at a friend's house outside in this horrible weather. :frown:

Nice find on the winch. They also have the winch mount on sale for on $29.99. :hhmm:

Universal Channel Winch Mount

Kool.that saved me some time instead of building one. Picked it up today at lunch time and cut/welded the plate to the trailer today with the new 10K winch. Once the weather clears up we'll see how good it pulls.

Thats gonna be a nice setup :)

What did you do to fix the hole in the rear axle?

Never mind. I figured it out. I needed a GM TRE for the pitman arm.

Now I've just got to make it over there to finish up.

Issac, or anyone else with an 80, do y'all have one of the Slee OME bushing press tools?

I will be getting an OME lift for the 80 soon and will be buying my parts from TRDparts4u.com and Slee is one of the only ones that offers this.

Not broke, just trying to get things in order for SCC. Next up is installing the new aluminum radiator that is sitting in the garage, getting the :censor: windshield wipers working and the turn signals. Then I am getting the rear bumper re-built. And I am trying to get the fiberglass front end swapped out before Oct. Don't know if I will make that deadline the way things are going. :hhmm:

I was wondering why it broke.:flipoff2:

Sorry, I don't have that. I do have the bushings to go in my cruiser though. They have been sitting in my garage for over a year.

I am pretty sure we are the only ones who drive mall cruisers around here so I don't think you will find that from any members around here.

Putting on front fenders can be a whole lot of fun. I don't remember where I bought my last one from but I do remember it wasn't exactly a factory fit. Sounds like we need to have another wrenching session.

I thought the same thing with the aftermarket fenders and late OEM fenders. Mr Harold found me a rare OEM 78 fender somewhere I laughed when he called me back and said he found one I was just going to go with the later model 80 + they usually get and I thought that was what was going to come in. I put it on last weekend it fit like a glove just as well as the original. Mr Harold has lunch or some thank you coming he's a good ole boy.

Well, all the sheet metal I have for the front end came with the 40 when I bought it from Brian. And as I understand it, some or all of those pieces he had bought from Deryl. But Brian showed me some pics of when he had the sheet metal mounted up and he said it fit pretty well. They are just pretty rusty so I gotta get to wet sanding on them.

Got you, want be home until Wed.
We could settle up at the wrenching session or when you pick up the kit.

:censor: I wish I had realized what I was getting myself into when we were fixing my leaking axles. I got the inner seals that you suggested from Marlin but we had to run all over town to get the outter seals and couldn't find some of the others so we made them out of permatex. Sure would have made the job easier if I had gotten one of these kits. :bang: Live and learn.
