I grew up driving our FJ60 as a teenager when it was new and was finally given it to fix up for ourselves. Now that I got it going everything seems to sound like I could remember but some of my friends with Jeeps think the noise coming through the floor from the transmission is excessive and something is wrong with it. I have changed the fluid and it looked ok, and didn't change anything. Is it normal? How do yours sound? Thanks.

Your letting a bunch of guys w/ Jeeps compare their tcase noise to a 60? Ha! Post a video or audio. Have you replaced u joints? Is the noise constant or only at certain speeds. More info might help folks but these trucks aren't exactly quiet.

Ya that's what I thought. It's constant and goes up and down with speed. Seems fine to me. Would give Audio but need new key. Great to go out and the key won't turn. Put it off too long because it was working fine.
