Total Project costs: $440

6 x 2.5" Johnny Joints with 1.25" forged stud $36/ea with jam nut (around $225)
6 x Tube adapters $14/ea ($85)
6' long 2" .250 wall DOM tubing $61 (I didn't use the other 4 feet I bought)
6 x 5/8" Grade 8 bolts with washers and nuts around $36 roughly
around 3 feet of 3x6 rectangular 3/16" steel tubing $30 ?? I forget

Kudos to using the search feature. Thats a well known build and mudder. But you may want to check all those prices again since steel has gone up a few times in the last 13 yrs. Read some of Shawns later posts as well. He did wheel it hard till he realized he needed a buggy but offered some critiques of the setup as well.

didnt even think about the prices going up

3x6 3/16 tube? For what? Sliders? Thats not 3 link.

Hmmm I can tell you I probably have more than 450$ worth of DOM in my 3 link. You could use 2x2 1/4 wall square for links but thats not my first choice. It might be cheaper depending on where you source your tube. I would not run anything smaller than 2” .250 though round or square. DOM is seamless so your tube adapters go in nicely. Then you have panhard, tie rod, draglink... 1.5” .250 dom works great and looks good.

I think you will be in it more than him.

I like how ActionJackson did his but I think the 3 link builds have come a long ways since his. That is on the cheap and you could certainly do that but with swapping axles youre gonna need to get more custom which is gonna be more money.

I think you’re coming in pretty low on your estimate for cost of this 3 link. Go price out joints and adaptors, tubing, link mounts, coil seats, shock tabs, extended brake lines, etc etc

yeah your right im going to be wheeling this hard, im not going to just slam it around but i would bend those. im going to have to rethink that. i just got my hellfire knuckles all i need is brake calipers and to have a shop weld on my knuckle balls

Any update on this leaf upgrade?? I'm curious to see how this train wreck panned out.
