Having a hard time finding a clean GX with KDSS. I want the KDSS for its on road cornering benefits, what off road I do is in Baja, and I don't really need its articulation assist.
Has anyone tried upgrading the stock sway bars to approximate the effect?
There are plenty of nice low miles GXs without..
thanks in advance.

Where are you and are you willing to travel? I flew from Phoenix to Albuquerque to get mine. I basically spammed all the Craigslist postings that weren't obviously non-KDSS and asked if they had black (Sport package) or brown wood trim.

There are some non-sports with KDSS, but they're few and far between. Finding a sport package was easier for me.

I'm happy to have the sport package, and of course just as happy without. I do want KDSS, and am willing to travel. I have a broker in Phoenix bird dogging it for me. As has been noted many times, so far every truck I've called on that advertises KDSS has not had it after all.

You can use this site w/VIN to see if it has KDSS:

VIN Decoder - Club Lexus Forums

I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate but it shows my truck as having it, and a random Craigslist GX as not, so I think it's fairly accurate.

Try Kent at the Tulsa, OK Lexus dealership. He said they get a lot of GX470s through there. Not sure about KDSS though. Most of theirs are one owner trades they sold new and not sure how popular the option was in that region.

Thanks, I'll give them a shout.
I would still like to know if anyone has upgraded their sway bars to increase the roll stiffness? Lots of really clean trucks out there, I'd be happy with if I could make them corner like KdSS

embrace the body roll, oh and downshift lol

Just look underneath, KDSS is hard to miss, the sway bar is substantially bigger

Well I just read a thread on the Toyota120 forum, about replacing the sway bar bushings with delrin or in any case poly. Should stiffen up? I'm getting itchy and passing up all these low miles clean trucks while waiting for the elusive 'Sport Package'... I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on an '09

Lexy will be for sale soon, will not be cheap is the only down side. The truck comes turn key expedition package,

I'm sure someone will, it is a great rig!! I wish I would have parted out my FJ though, it would have taken a few weeks but maybe I would have got some of my money back. It was for sale for over 6 months and when I did sell it I got about half of what I had in it. I hope you find a buyer of it as is though bc your is the best built Gx I have seen. Good luck bud!! Btw what are you replacing it with and why are you selling?

thanks :) we are replacing with a LX570 if everything goes to plan. We have so much camera gear now that its a tight fit with Lexy, production junk is big and cumbersome. We love Lexy and to be honest we are very nervous about selling her, it is the most overall capable truck we have ever owned, and we have owned and driven most everything out there.

Sad to hear, man. As with most of us 470 owners, yours has been a huge inspiration. I know the next build will be just as awesome. Look forward to how it turns out.

If you want it to corner good get an M3. KDSS is great but in my eyes it's just one more thing to break or malfunction. I would be more concerned with mileage and a good history.
If you're worried about "one more thing to break" you should probably not be looking at a semi-modern Lexus...KDSS has very few problems. If KDSS reliability is a concern, good thing we don't have power locks, windows, keyless entry, power seats, sunroof, ATRAC, or countless other electronics to worry about. :P
