Looking for FJ62 rear axle

All,

I am debating either swapping to an FJ62 rear axle, or using spacers on the rear of my 40. Does anyone have a 62 rear that they want to get rid of?

Need stock 4.11 ratio.

i have an 87 fj60 axle to get rid of, complete, and obviously has 3.73's, but i need the third out of it, $100 if you want it

oh and i still have those 40 doors you were asking about awhile ago, they need to go, if you're interested make an offer

Do you know if my '74 diff will work in that axle?

Yeah, I may still be interested in the doors. I have been a little preoccupied since we had our baby!! Just now starting to think about truck stuff again.

So what I am reading is that it will work - just may need to get a universal flange for the pinion?

Actually, I wouldn't have to get anything... I'd be using my diff....

yup, the flange should be the same as long as the side gears tech is correct in the posts... should be good to go.

Would you not swap in the FJ60 front as well? Not clear on which front axle you have.

i think the only thing you'd have to do is move the spring perches, im not sure but i think fj60 rear spring spacing is wider than a 40

Yeah, I figured on that. I have a few sets of Dodge perches from when I was mounting up my D60s on the 4runner. They should do the trick.

Thinking about spring over as well - gonna do it eventually anyhow! Anyone ever run SOA in the rear and SUA in the front?

i ran a samurai like that for awhile, it was nice because it didnt see the trail a whole lot, with lift springs up front all i needed was a drop pitman arm and didnt have to redo the whole steering system with a crossover setup
