Cruiser is running great. Many thanks to the forum for that. Now I am looking to stop and repair the typical rust that comes with these things. This is work I neither have the tools or the skill set for though. Hoping someone out there has a guy in Northern VA that they can recommend. Thanks.

Would be interested to learn your findings. I am in falls church and my 62 is at Iron Pig for a thorough mechanical going through(engine rebuild). I am sure they have a recommendation. I have some rust around my rear side windows that I would like to get sorted in the future.

I am in Arlington. I am going to a body shop today over near Ballston for an estimate. I found a place in Alexandria, but they want 4k for the rust repair and 3500 for the paint, which is out of my budget. I'll let you know what else I find. I was hoping someone on here "had a guy." But so far nada.

I am also interested in what you find.
While I am doing the rust repair on mine this winter myself, I will need a paint job.
I am not into spending much more than 2k for paint at this point.
Later maybe as next winter it will be torn apart, but for not just a basic paint job that looks good.

You should really look into doing the paint yourself. For less than $1000 you could get a compressor, spray gun, sanders, paint and supplies, then you'd have everything you need for your current and future projects. I painted some of my full size Bronco and our Land Cruiser like this in our driveway under a plastic sheet paint booth...and you'd be amazingly surprised how well it can turn out! It just takes time and good prep, then you'll have the satisfaction of doing it yourself and saving a lot of money!

I'm in DC and want to take care of some frame/body rust and a few dents/dings/typical DC-damage. Any luck finding a trustworthy place?

Something that I've thought about when the time comes on my 60, is the availability of a rental paint booth in the Denver area. I also am going to take some courses at a nearby community college to educate myself on repair, maintenance, and painting. Has anyone went down this path? Sorry for the hijack.

My HOA would disagree with you on that. That is why i either need to rent a booth or get it done by someone else.
I agree that it would be cheaper, but due to the HOA it is impossible.

in my Garage with ventilation is also not an option as my Wife would kill me. and then my Cruiser would be sad.
