Like the title says. Looking for a 100 series with about 100k on the clock for Rob (my neighbor that came to the meeting). lockers would be great, otherwise just want it in nice daily driver condition.
Craigslist and autotrader are your best resources. Shannon and I kept an eye out and stumbled upon the one we bought. The timing was perfect, as on the Wednesday I went to look at it they had a deal in hand with questionable financing. Financing fell through so Shannon and I went there Thursday and drove it and made an offer. The other buyer came back on Friday with sound financing while we were finishing up the paperwork.
There have been quite a few 100's with 120 - 130k lately. All are in the $12,500 - 14,000 range.
Rob may be set on a 100, but the GX is a great ride and I love the head room (more than 100), back seat leg room (also more), but it lacks cargo space of the 100.
I've been trying to glean some knowledge from the 100 series tech threads. Seems there was a front pinion redesign in 2000 that is supposed to be more durable.
This will be my DD driver as well as a tow rig so looking for something not too abused.
I noticed that the Lexus versions have a few more dodads like Adaptive Height Control, often Nav, and heated 2nd row, etc. I probably haven't dug deep enough in Tech section yet but anyone know of durability problems with these extras?
I got a chance to go out and drive some of the local links above today. Not sure if I've found the one yet but getting a better feel for what to expect on these machines.

There was a 200 in colorado springs with a few bolt-on's for about 40k I know that's well north of what 100's are going for. I'll try to find the link...
This one seemed a little more tired than others I drove so far. Got a little bit of suck back on paper over exhaust so it might of got too hot when coolant was dumped on the road before new radiator and such a year ago. No sticker for TB and Serpentine looked pretty bad. Definitely motivated seller though.
Well after several months of kicking tires I was sure I wanted the additional space a Sequoia provided for hauling family (not my own kids but always taking siblings, nieces and nephews or friends on adventures). In addition I do a lot of home improvement, remodeling type projects so being able to securely haul lots of tools, supplies and a trailer were big on my list.
However with all that looking I finally realized after folding down all the seats so many times and envisioning it loaded up with tools, plywood, sheetrock and such, I wound up with a really nice tow rig instead. I've been on too many trips since my purchase to grab a photo so your teaser/enticement to sign up for SMORR is it will be hauling 2fpower's FOO down there.
Thank you all for your effort to help me find a decent DD. Now that I have that base covered I can step down that need and start looking for an 80 or 40 to have some fun with.
