Looking for a very well sorted/clean/fairly restored and fairly stock FJ40 stateside. Prefer non-SA build, but depends on the condition and care. Prefer one with factory hardtop and original engine and decent records/paperwork and clear title. I would normally look for a FJ that needs work (found a few on some FB groups) and do the restoration myself, but have made the decision that I need to enjoy the car sooner than much later with a full rebuild. The last car I finally restored almost killed me (angry wife), but was an amazing experience. I am located in N. GA and have plenty of garage space to keep my future FJ protected and happy and dry. I am fairly active on BAT as well - looking for the perfect one there as much as I can.

If you are thinking of moving on from an FJ that you own (or know of one) that fits my search, I would be most interested to chat with you as I am in no rush - and really enjoy speaking to owners about their rig and the stories behind them. This would be a rig that would stay in our family for years to come and one my daughter would eventually own when time moves on.

I continue to look at this amazing build from Proffitt (pic attached) daily as my inspiration - clearly not to that level, but just love the spirit shown here. Dune Beige is such an amazing color.

I'm on it!

Who's going to build it for you?

I'm not building, but buying - buying one that is in really good condition and someone who has put the work into it. Sorry if that didn't come across in my original post. The pic I attached is my inspiration of how I would take a great example and slightly modify into that vision. But again, I'd like to find a great FJ that someone has put some great work into.

What's your budget?

I have a 76 I’m considering letting go. Dune Beige. Same one in my Avatar / Profile Pic. Pretty clean and strong. Reach out to me privately and we can discuss.

I'm kicking around the idea of letting my 79 FJ go to a new home. :hmm:

Yes, the hardtop , all doors, and a brand new soft top. I had Profitt"s Land Cruisers lift it, make two sets of custom FJ Wheels, add power steering, install both of their front and rear bumpers, as well as, baseline it. Great truck, my attention is just being pulled to my FJ80.

I went through a similar search two years ago. I agree with previous poster, @overton at LCN is one of the best places to start.

Is factory diesel an option for you in Hilux Lt. Green? It's titled as an '81 but has older style bib and doors, aluminum tub, lots of info in my sig line and its in the BJ42 classifieds.
