I just bought 4 yesterday from Clark AKA Plutonious to replace my 7 year old Coopers and now I need to find a spare.

Also I just want to verify it would be pointless for me to keep one of my 285/75/16's as a spare until I find a 315 KM2.

No help, but I am in the same spot in need of a spare 315 KM2. I am keeping an old 285/75/16 until I find one. Maybe there is package deal out there. Been looking at a few local shops with no luck.

Both of you - are your 285/75/16 KM2's in decent shape (no plugs - at least decent tread)? If so, let's talk when you find your 315 spares. I'm running 255/85/16's on my trailer and 285/75/16's on the truck. I've been looking for 2 decent KM2's to match the truck for the trailer. One flake on Craigslist has 2 advertised right up here in Anaheim, but has not answerd two emails and a phone call, yet the ad is still up. He was only asking $175 for the pair!

Regardless, keep me in mind when you want to sell your spare 285's if they are also KM2's.

Mine is an old bfg mud not a km2. Not worth much except as a spare.

Is there a point in doing this? you cant run one 2" smaller even in an emergency I would think.
In a pinch for short distance is all I would consider to get back to a place to repair.

Got the 35's installed yesterday! :bounce: Now to find out if I have any rubbing when we go out for the END OF THE WORLD trip.

Rubbing

I am waiting to see if I rub as well. I used to rub a minor amount on the back wheel well with the 285/75/16 and the OME heavy medium combo. I added 2" bump stops in hope to prevent this. Havn't had it out yet to try with the 315/75/16 KM2's

It's about freaking time!!! :flipoff2:

Looks good Mark!

I have only driven them home from the tire shop. The wifey is drving it today and she said she could notice the difference but I didn't notice a difference.

No plan to re-gear yet but I am planning to add a rear locker early next year so I will have to decide by then.

Looks great!

X2 on getting that rear locker. It will enable you to run more difficult trails, which for me, means more adrenaline, :bounce:

Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on gears unless 37's are in your future. I went everywhere on stock gears when I ran 35's and the 80 just purred doing 80 on the freeway. My $.02 worth.

Yeah I could live without Re-gearing but a 16-19 ft travel trailer is in my future and at that point I know I will want gears.

Been there, done that, with a 22'. Just skip that and go straight to one of these:

Nah the only reason to have a trailer is for the facilities. I mostly do dry camping right off the asphalt no back country stuff. And when the :princess: doesn't go I will sleep in the cruiser. :)
