Too funny! I was just going to post the same thing.

Looking good Dave! But seriously, where is Dixie? They showed every mod except the Boston.

Wow....its gone.

I'm GLAD it's gone! I had to drive by that rig every day on my way too and from work and just drool on what I could never afford. It made my rig look like an ugly drunk monkey in comparison. JK on it being gone. I wonder why he sold it. He seemed to have put a LOT of time and money into it. Very curious to know what it sold for.

Nice job Dave!

The editor emailed me and said my 80 would be in the new issue... Funny cause the last pics I had sent them were from 3yrs ago and the rig looks nothing like that anymore...

Not a full editorial like Dave's, prob a read and ride section... Don't know my subscription lapsed :-(

Matt

I wonder what happened to the teardrop ? :)

Hopefully he still has it. Come to think of it.... it's just gonna take up space since he no longer has the expedition rig. He just needs to give it to me. I will be kind enough to help him open up some space. ;)

Hey Fellas, yep.. we shot those photos way back in May in Sedona. Came out great. Thanks for the support on the sale by the way :) hehehe I deserve it.

Truck went to a dude that put up my asking price for a sale i couldn't refuse. The teardrop went to Sean (SOCAL80).

So our original plan was a 100 series and new SCT Teardrop XL.. but i don't know what we're doing right now so im holding tight.

We still have Yosh's 80, don't forget and kick me out of the cool 80 club :)

So what's it gonna take to get you to divulge the amount you sold it for. I know there is a LOT of guys on this forum with built expedition style rigs that would like to know what one at the top of the build ladder goes for. There isn't many in the US more built then your rig. Your's gives us a measuring stick for the high end of the market. I know there are guys asking 60k out there, but that isn't a realistic number. Asking price and selling price are usually VERY different.

Shoot - I'll sell you mine today for $60K, trailer included! ;)

Yeah, i'll say it. The guy selling his for $59k is out of his mind. I don't care how much you have into it. I had 50k into my truck and i got less than $20k for it. Let's put it that way. And i had items you can't get anymore. I also had 250,000 miles on my truck and it was starting to show it's age. It was time.

Congrats Dave.

I can totally see you in a hundy and an XL. Or since it's just the three of you, how about a GX?

My hope was that your rig sold in the 15-25k range. That seems to be a fair price for both parties for the better built rigs. That's also a reality check for the folks who are dilusional and think they can get every penny back that they put into it. Over the years I have built quite a few trail rigs and I usuualy get about 1/3 of the cost of JUST the parts back out of it. The hours of fabrication, installation, tax, shipping, etc. etc. don't even factor into the selling price. I'm glad you settled on a fair deal and kept the market strong on built 80's. I hope your next adventure mobile is just as awesome. If you ever need a spare set of hands, tools, or a warm heated garage to wrench in then let me know.

That sounds like my usual "investment" strategies. Too bad you can't write off the losses.:grinpimp:

If a plan doesn't happen soon, the mod bug is going to bite Dave again and as a result, Yoshi's 80 is going to get some drastic changes.
