the answer I have received...

showers and port-a-johns for tent campers....

Elbert, I ran to an issue just like this about an hour ago: I've been talking to a guy who wants to take some 60's & 80's with newish drivers to the Cove. He expressed concerns about the place appearing to be a lot rougher and muddier than I described in pictures he's seen. I tried to find pics in my collection to show him - alas, I couldn't come up with anything either. The point I'm getting at is that more often than not, when taking pictures on trails, they are of the harder stuff. I haven't been to K2 either, but I wouldn't get too disconcerted about not finding images of easier stuff. Ask yourself how often to you see people scrambling for their cameras when trucks are going through the "lesser" trails? I think I've heard people say that smaller rigs still have plenty to do.

Steve is correct, people don't usually post pic's of easier trails, there will be plently of wagons and relative stock 40's for you to ride with.

Yea I agree.. on post up the cool pics kind of logic.

not backing out...just wanting to be "reassured"..I guess.

ok whats the latest info?

I'm waiting to hear back from work on my leave request, if that does not get shot down I'm in. I'll probably leave here early Wed AM and meet Jeff & crew (Bodean) near Jackson, MS and drive out from there..most likely arriving there late in the afternoon or evening same day.

Roger do you guys have 4 in your crew?

Save me spot for camping and or parking... I've not registered yet so I don' t know how camping is setup or maybe its first come first serve. If you want to trade cell ## PM me...probally going to be hard figure out where people are parked once night fall hits?

The latest info, as far as I know, is that nothing has changed. Still only 3 trucks comitted to the hauler. Roger is still leaving Tuesday afternoon and picking me up Tuesday evening. Getting to the park early Wednesday morning. I don't know anything about the parking and camping situation though; that'll have to be answered by someone who's been. I don't think it'll be hard to find anything once there though; I think the place is pretty flat other than the rock formations.

vacation time approved. So unless nothing changes over the next few days I'm "in".

Elbert, you get the trailer mods done I guess?

Time schedule hasn't changed for me and Roger but looks like we're going with the 2-car camper/hauler now instead of the 4-car.

I'm suppose to get the trailer back Sat...and it should all be complete. My friend works on stuff when he is not covered up at his real job.

Modified the jack on the trailer, setup some spare tire mounts, changed the loading ramp setup.

Cool. You end up finding a convoy that worked out timewise?

Yeah, I'm going to meet Jeff over near Jackson, MS early Wed AM and then leave with them from Jackson to Mason TX. Looks like I may get a motel room over near Jackson tuesday afternoon so I don't have to get up crazy early.

I get setup for final reservations and stuff on Thursday or Friday as I think the ride web site said Friday was the last day to register through the web.

Camping is a wide open area. First come - first served. Just find a nice level spot and set up your camp. Park you tow rig and your wheeler right at your camp - no big deal.

They will take late registration but you may not get a shirt in your size . There is usually more than enough food to go around. Have fun!

I finally registered, got little red truck serviced, still need to rebuild rear diff in 40, change a couple of tires on trailer and load out camper.

weather not looking so great for the ride....rain.

I'm guessing the rain won't harm the traction there too much, it'll just be annoying. Especially if I want to put on my tube doors.

They are showing a 20% chance for Thurs and Friday, so should not be a wash out.

last time I checked..its improved....weather channel shows 30% for Thur-Sat , 60% for Sunday / Rain.

I'll see you guys out there.....

On the way to Jackson, ms then to mason, tx area tomorrow.
