Ok, I felt guilty for posting a random truck up so I called the guy! haha
Basically he has good intentions, but doesnt know what he's doing. You may have come to that conclusion yourself when you saw 'V6', but maybe you didnt and thought it was some foreign import with the elusive 1fx-fe V6 engine.
He said the odometer was stuck at 120k since he bought it. Carfax is clean, so he doesnt know what the deal is.
Differentials are in fact our beloved birfield joints, not the pumpkin. He had Jim Hickey in Gardena do the full birf job including new birfield joints from Spectr Off Road. Not OEM, but new. The shop gave him an idea of the wear on the truck being 200k, but again, thats just his guess. Jim Hickey is legit, so you know the work was done correctly. I talked to Jim a few times when I picked my truck up in 07.
Also had the rear axle seals done new through Jim.
Poor guy bought it last year this time and dumped a few $$grand into it and now has to sell. Hasnt even seen dirt. He shifted into low, but it sounded like he probably didnt thoroughly check the locker function.
For a lockered 80 with a fresh birf job, I think $4500 is a pretty good deal even with 200k. I paid twice that for mine but half the miles two years ago.
Anyway, thats the 411
