Anyone know where I can pick up an ARB winch bumper locally? I know MAF sells them in Simi Valley. Shipping is $150 + from out of state vendors ::crybaby:

Anyone selling one?

Thanks!

There was a guy on the IE craigslist selling one in San Bernardino or Yucaipa not too long ago.

I found the receipt for my ARB bumper. The PO got it at 4 wheel parts and paid $675 for it.

Thanks Matt. I will take a look.

Try Dirty Parts in LA? 310-390-9086

They are right down the street from my work. I will give Larry a call too. I remember when I was looking for FJC mods, Dirty Parts were on the high side.

I found the goods to be on par and labor to be higher but quality of work was worth it. When I get mine this is my plan.

Agreed 100% Like a lot of the smaller dealers, you get what you pay for with Larry. Work is outstanding and he knows his stuff! He did the lights and wiring on my INTI and the work was nothing short of perfection.

If you're going to install the bumper yourself, and it's very easy, you can shop price, but balance what's probably a lower price out at MAF vs the drive there and supporting a local dealer.

Thanks fellas. I called yesterday and got a price $200.00 more than having one shipped from Slee. Same thing when I was looking for an OME lift for the FJC back in 2007. I am all for supporting the local shops which is why I inquired about a local vendor. MAF is a drive for me from La Mirada. Have to balance my want to support for a local vendor and how much I am willing to spend within reason. The install will take place in my driveway.

From MAF?

From DP. MAF was about $200 less than DP. Not sure if I want to drive out to Simi though.

Shoot - I did from south OC! Only problem is they arent' open on Saturdays. I drove out early morning so I was there when they opened, threw it in the back and headed to work. Not accounting (comment for John Galt) for the value of my time, it was less expensive for me to drive to Simi Valley than have it shipped from there to south OC. You're a good 50 miles closer.

Ok that sound like something I can do.

4 Wheel parts on one of their free shipping sales, Im all for supporting Mud/Toyota vendors but money is money..........

Nyuck Nyuck.... Now that's what I call cashin' in on an earlier deal

When I got my ARB for the FJC, they were the only one who had them, and I did the same thing, drove to Simi, thank you's to Steve-O, and threw it in back and headed over the hill to home.

I need one for my FZJ80 too. Not sure what I'm doing yet. I'm 'negotiating' with everyone trying to find a combo of price & value that works for me - I want to do my winch in a package deal at the same time......

I agree. 4WP has the lowest price of them all ;) Their distribution center in Compton is close and they are always in stock because that is where the stores get them. They even have a store there so just pay and pick up

Forget the ARB bumper all together, go with the Bump It Off-Road Tube Bumper. I would only consider the ARB if I was building an expedition vehicle or lived in deer country.

But honestly trying to save a dollar is a huge hassel of getting it to your house. Sometimes shipping it to your door is the way to go!

I am digging the Bump It tube bumper...ugghh decisions :hhmm:. I wanted to go Expedition rig which is why I bought the 80. Not sure if the MAF 5" lift is ideal for expo but it's a work in progress ;)

General expo rig 5" is too much IMHO. Slee's 4" max perhaps. I've been fine with OME's 2-3" lift all around with heavies because of the weight of the ARB/winch up front and the Kaymar rear in addition to sliders, roof rack, fridge, storage drawers, etc. It adds up fast!

Thanks Brent. You have been very helpful in my search and now my refinement of a great rig. I thought 5" would be too much for expo. I was thinking of maybe swapping out the 5" springs to OME J or 3" heavy in the future. I wonder if the MAF 5" kit will play well with new shorter springs (need to call MAF).

IMHO you should at least give Larry at Dirty Parts a chance to match your 4WP price. Times are tough for off road shops and anything you can do to support the "local" shop, I'm sure would be appreciated.
