Hi, any recommendations for a shop that has experience with AHC? I noticed a puddle of reddish liquid under the driver's side door on my LX a few days ago and I'm pretty sure it's active height control fluid.

Looked through some past responses on this thread but couldn't find an answer.

We work on AHC systems regularly. AHC fluid is more clear/amber color than red though. Red is more likely transmission or power steering. Possibly coolant depending on the year.
Glad to hear! I want to put the stock LC200 spacers on, do the globes and likely all shocks while we’re at it. Thoughts on refreshing the springs? Truck has 170k on it.

Also, on the transfer and trans fluids. Do you all use the Toyota “magic” fluid or recommend others that meet the specs? I will be doing sliders and skids, so want to get all the fluids replaced before those go on.

I wouldn't bother with the globes unless you're having an issue with them. Springs are probably fine at 170k unless it's been overloaded. On fluids we use a mix and match of factory and aftermarket depending on what makes sense for each use case.

Anyone have a source for 1 gauge copper wire? Looking to run a Anderson connector from batteries to the rear bumper of a full size truck to be used as a power point for jump starts and for a trailer mounted winch.

I've used this brand in the past and at the time it was very price competitive in terms of $/per ft. Not sure if thats changed but the quality was high and not having to go somewhere is a plus

Thanks for that. Looking for that and not the CCA wire that gets pawned off as Ok for that use.

Anyone know of a good local powder coating place?

Located in Manassass. Have used them; it was not expensive and good work but I guess could depend on the guy(s) doing the work.

Had a pile of parts and wheel blasted and coated for $100 or so. I asked them what a stripped frame would cost for SB/coat and quote was $400-500

Hi all, new to the LX/Land Cruiser world. I live in Rockville, work in Laurel, and frequent Baltimore to visit my family. Is there a shop in any of those areas you'd all suggest? I just bought my first LX (2003). Trying to get all the fluids changed out and I think it needs a serpentine belt. Amongst other things I also think a cv boot is leaking and needs to be replaced. As well, the ride is very bumpy so I'm debating on swapping out the AHC or having the AHC fluid replaced (it looks black and low in the well) and the accumulators swapped out. Thank you for any help in advance.

Results may vary based on what you find here but Land Cruiser Heaven is in Hagerstown. I bought my lift from them and didn't have any issues.

Late to the party but I took my LX to @OTRAMM a few weeks ago and had a great experience. They know a lot about the 100 Series platform and looked over mine much more thoroughly than any other mechanic I've taken it to. Answered all the questions I had about AHC, and when it came time to triage, they were honest about the work I should prioritize. I wish I'd gone there immediately after buying my LX versus waiting a year...

Hi local cruiser dudes,

I'm trying to find someone to complete some work on a project 40 I picked up earlier this year. Everyone seems pretty packed and unwilling to take on the project. OTRAMM's not working on 40s anymore, Iron Pig is swamped, the guy in Hagerstown wants to send it to Columbia (NOPE). Any other cruiser specialists in the general area I'm missing? Thanks in advance!
