So what is the plan now? You still getting the rear toyota bushing parts?

Well. I went up to Molle and the guy was really nice (and would honor the TAC discount with the sheet in hand). He saw the bushings I was talking about but they're on order for another week.

I don't know if the ones on there are too bad. For $73, I'll do the bushings.... but for a week or more. I might just take the next chance I can get to put them on there and get it drivable.

I DID decide, after talking to him, I'm not comfortable doing the bushing replacement - nor probably taking the control arm off. So, I'm willing to pay someone to do that work for me as well as help me with the steering stabilizer and drill out two bolts.

Any takers on that one? Free anytime today/tonight and tomorrow.

Ahhh, haha

Thanks again for the help. You're a standup guy to help me out today and let me hang around your shop. Hopefully next week we'll be able to FINISH it. Can't wait to have her fully drivable again. If you get a free evening, let me know and I'll take ya out for a bite to show my appreciation. (and or beer)

What did you and Rob finish up doing on yours?

So, how does it feel now?

Man, the truck drives great. It really handles exactly like it did before the lift. The bushings are spot on and the thing tracks as straight as an arrow (thanks for your expertise with the press).

As it sits, there's still a little whine/whirr in the front side of the drivetrain. I wanted to liken it to a rumble strip SOUND (not vibration) but I think the pitch is a little higher and whirrier. It seems as if it comes on fairly strong in the 60 mph range and lasts until about 50 if you're letting off. Much more managable at 70 and doesn't seem like it's going to destroy itself. With the bushings, it does feel better than before the bushings.

I do recall that there was a little bit of a grumbling type feeling in the front end before the lift, so I wonder if this just amplified the issue???

Thanks again for all your guys' help and your hospitality, Kelly. Anything I can do for you, just let me know.

Maybe a set of MTs will mask it enough so I won't care haha.

These will definitely drown out the noise. Had them on the LX for awhile:

Now that's a tire! I have never ridden on a set of those, but man, those Nitto Mud Grapplers and Baja Claws can be heard from a mile or more away.

Can't beat the sound of boggers though. Just like throwing money out the window every second you drive.

You make it home alright the other night?

Road noise was bearable in the LX. Ear plugs required in a 60 according to Craig Schultz.

Made it home around 11:30. A long drive, but not too bad.

Eh that will happen. I suppose noise is just one of those things that goes hand in hand with some good traction.

How is it pulling something like a rotisserie? Ratcheted down, obviously it won't move.

Guys ... New tires are being installed!
