Pretty funny all but the petrol barrel price seemns to go down this week ( or at least monday and tuestday ) but tomorrow here in Panamá the gass and diesel wiull raise the price on .20 cents .. at least.

I found a place here in Mountain View yesterday that sells B99 for $4.16/gal (55 gallon min)... sounds like in a few more months I'll be carting drums home and filling up in my garage.

Best price I saw yesterday in Toronto was $1.149/litre or roughly $4.35/US gallon.
Anywhere from $1.12 to $1.22 here in Calgary. I can buy bio for $.99 plus $.12 tax at a local health food store. The bio comes in 20l jugs that you leave a deposit for the first time. I think it is from a small commercial processer in Sparwood BC.
Time for a public revolt, time to start using fuel oil (even if it's only a few cents less) but most importantly, time to convert to other fuel sources. I can see waste oil 'theft' on the rise...
Trouble is the average joe is already strapped and a slave to the pump and has no reserves to take any action against that.
What's up on lithium ion battery front? The only solution long term is electric, at least for those countries who generate their own. Thankfully even though electrity costs have risen substantially in the past few years, it is way lower than heating oil, I can't imagine how anyone who is on a limited budget and uses heating oil can make it through the winter fuel bill.
In 1980 I wrote a paper on the energy situation in which I advocated massive fusion research for our societal well-being with strong enphasis on solar methods for our individual needs, because according to the information availabe at the time, without serious changes, our society would pass the point of no return by 2030.
We are now in 2008 and because demand has swelled up from the emerging nations (I never factored in that element) it looks like we are going to want to have a "piece of their action" and that it's going to happen sooner rather than later...
On a personal note if I could save the extra $4000 I spend per year on energy than I did just a few years ago I would be actually able to save money for my retirement. As it is now, I can't see how I can even pay taxes. The angst of the self employed...
As for the figure of $1.46 per litre, it's, I'm sure, pretty much what the local pump will display today, as it is usually 3 to 9 cents above that of my truck stop station.
I urge civil disobedience, get your heating oil guys. Enough is enough. They can't take anything from an already squeezed lemon.

Flying J is a card lock so is always a lot cheaper than retail locations. Some Flying Js allow non-cardlock holders to buy fuel. There is something about the Shell diesel at the Flying Js that cause my rpm to drop by 100-150.
Well put!! Does anyone know why diesel is so much more the regular gas? I thought diesel is the waste byproduct of refining gasoline. Is this the higher price ratio do to the ultra low sulfur fuel now mandated? Where I live I only know of two places to get bio-diesel and they are both more expensive that normal fuel (whats the point? ) Also while I'm thinking about it , Does the ULS diesel have any negative effect on our motors? I thought I heard something about not giving enough lubricants to lift pump injectors etc.

OK by cardlock you surely mean unattended, pay by credit card? Surely one doesn't need a special card? I went to one of these stations in the US opnce, used my credit card no problem.
As for fuel quality... This is odd! I DID notice that my fuel efficiency increased dramatically in the past month, which I attribute to switching to summer fuel and, of course, the dreadfully expensive fuel which is forcing me to drive slower. I haven't been over 120 in quite a while now.
Fuel tax revenue has nothing to do with repairing roads. All tax money goes into general revenue; roads compete for their budget just like everything else.

That, my Friend, Is WRONG, morally and ethically, it is an undemocratic way to divert tax monies from where the citizen needs it to where policymakers says we need it but don't want to pay for it.
If we need more money for social services, why don't we get from income tax? The road taxes are grossly unfair and affect only the working poor. I don't see anyone in their Porsche Cayenne going at 90km an hour on the highway...
