Hey all, I have noise and play in my rear prop shaft/rear universal joint.

I've found a few parts online, but wondering if anyone has a part number that will compute at a local (Vancouver bc) place such as lordco or napa.

Thanks in advance!

Often if you get a Toyota part number somewhere like NAPA can cross reference it if it is available.

Also, if you go to toyodiy.com you can cross reference part numbers to see if that part was used on any North American Toyotas. The rear prop shaft u-joints appear to be a pretty common item (pickups, 4runners, Tacomas from the mid 80’s through 2004) PN 04371-35050 or 04371-35031. There also seems to be a replacement GMB u-joint PN GUT23. Hope this helps!

Most driveline shops can get you the u-joints if they a rebuilding your shafts.

I believe either @cruiseroutfit or @orangefj45 will have them in stock. Or buy from Toyota.

I bought some (not Prado) a week or two ago from Cruiser Brothers. Aftermarket quality Japanese u-joints.

Cheers

As Airheadnut said, the Prado 70 u-joints are the same as all the other cruisers/4runners/pick-ups etc. I replaced mine too a few years ago.

Make sure you keep on top of greasing them going forward. The slip joint too.

Yup Cruiser Brothers has them in stock. I just got mine in today from ordering them Monday. Matsuba brand.

Yup, we have dozens of the LJ variant U-Joints in stock @ Cruiser Outfitters and can ship same day. We stock both the Matsuba aftermarket Japanese joints ($37.50/each) and the OEM Toyota joints. We've sold/installed thousands of the Matsuba joints, run them in rock-crawlers, the Baja 1000, trucks driving around the globe, great joints, Let us know if we can be of assistance.
