Lincoln Way for Mutts

Last year my lovely bride and I traveled most of Route 66 in our 1969 FJ40. This upcoming April/May, we are currently in planning mode for a two part trip along America's first coast to coast road, The Lincoln Highway.

Part one is from Ames Iowa to NYC. Part two will be later in the year or early next year from Ames to San Francisco.

This trip will be different, in that in addition to enjoying the historic sights, we will be promoting Mikaela's Mutt Motel - Dog Rescue - https://mikaelasmuttmotel.org/, a 501c3 animal rescue, as well as partnering with animal rescues along the way to raise awareness and funds.

Started trip planning today. Looking at DeKalb IL, Goshen IN, Canton OH, Gettysburg PA and Trenton, NJ as overnights. Then suffer our way into NYC on a Sunday morning and maybe Long Island for church before heading upstate to visit friends. On the way back need to stop by @Roastchestnuts on Ocroka island

We are starting in Ames for both the East leg in April and the West leg in September. So we will definitely take you up on that.

So you will literally be driving right by me, we live off the Lincoln highway (original) and then 1/2 mile off 3rd gen hwy (current route) and it would be cool to meet!
