Little bit of an update.

I "built" a rear bumper. Just some 2x2 square tube with the ends bent in. Trimmed the frame a little.

I also replaced both rear calipers and pads. After I deleted the LSPV and the rear calipers started working they both stuck.

Other than that I've just been driving it. Hauling s***. Transporting dogs.

I've got to put as many miles as possible on her while gas is so cheap.

The winch/plate went on my other beater 80. I'd like to make a plate bumper for the front of this one, but haven't found the time.

I gave my stock bumper to a buddy so I made this one out of the scrap pile!

Some updates. I sold White Trash to a buddy so no I only have one 80! Woohoo.

I made a front bumper and put on some 37s! Front springs are old OME J springs, rears are some heavy Ironman springs. Added slee caster plates and a DC shaft from Tattons. Tires are 37x12.50r17 Firestone destination MT2.

I think i saw this beast at lowe's a month or so ago. I said to my wife "oohhh 37's!" from across the parking lot. She didnt get it. :/

Lowe’s in Staunton? Probably so!

My wife doesn’t get it either but she’s a good sport.

It’s been a while. Nothing too exciting or out of the box is going on.

I scored some sliders from @Cruiserhead05. They were for a truck with a 1” body lift so some sweet custom work was required. I cut the pinch weld off and hammered the sh*t out of the rockers but they fit - with only a small amount of body contact/vibration. The big cat skid plate hung down like a plow so I cut that off and tucked it up nice and tight.

I chopped the front end to bits to fit the bumper that was on White Trash. It’s mostly “done” I still want to add a little more sheet metal to close up the holes in the front of the fenders and add some additional ridgidity. I can get other pictures upon request. I’m terrible at picture taking.

I fixed (it was never “broken”) my AC after 6 years of not having it. It’s cool, but not my style. It does make long interstate trips more tolerable, however. I relocated the drier to the battery box using some R12 lines, swagelock fittings, and info I found on MUD.

I lengthened the rear lower control arms to get my pinion right and scootch the axle back a bit. I installed the @Delta VS panhard relocation bracket and some Dobinson front and rear coils thanks to @H8 Roads.

I really didn’t think the panhard relocation would make much difference. I didn’t realize how used to the rear end moving around I had gotten. I live on a windy back road and driving feel was totally different after the bracket. Very nice.

the Dobinsons are great springs as everyone here has heard. Their shocks are very nice too. Night and day difference between the new setup and my previous. No pictures. It still looks like a dented up 80 with a 4” lift.

Last weekend I pulled the diffs to send them to ECGS for 5.29s. I’m more excited about this than anything I’ve done so far. These sumb*tches are heavy!! Front was 66 lbs and rear was 80 packed into 5 gallon buckets.

While the diffs were out I thought it would be a good time to paint my wheels bronze, but it was a major fail. For some reason my eyeballs saw gold and my head said bronze. It’s definitely gold though... I kind of love the contrast between these fly-ass wheels and my terrible looking cruiser.

Oh, and last, but not least, I traded my power leather for a full cloth seat set!

I’ve done lots of wheeling in the meantime, but, like I said, I’m terrible at pictures.

happy trails!
