what valving did you get for your shocks? I am curious because you are not running sway bars. Could you get away with, or is it even a good idea, to run heavier valving on the Bilsteins and not run a sway bar?

your suspension looks well done! the rear shock mounts look great. heck everything looks great.

Well it lives. I drove it for the first time since February. I was going to take it on a local poker run but I think I'm going to pass and ride in the FOG's jeep. There are too many little things to work out. I'll try and get some video tomorrow.

I like that belly pan. I see provisions for the toybox, but is it going to support the tranny too? Who made that for you? Are you using existing holes in the frame or cutting new ones?

Dylan

I'm running an SM420 so no tranny mount. A friend at a local fab shop laser cut it and broke it up for me. I was expensive and if his boss had not let some of the other things he's done for me slide through for free I wouldn't have done it. I welded nuts into the frame and retapped the existing cage nuts to 3/8.

I didn't know the valving was adjustable on the Bilstiens. They are just off the shelf from Marlin Crawler. Where would I look to find out?

they are not revalvable but they come in different valving depending on application.

there should be a part # like BE5-6249-H5 or BE5-A242-H5 on the shock. this will tell you if you have heavy or light valving.

thanks,

nope, whatever Marlin stocks on the shelves work's for me. It's leaf sprung 5,000lbs 4X4 wagon its never gona ride like a BMW.

Only thing I wish I had done differently was take some of the angle out of the rear shock set up(she tends to wallow in the rear). But it gets me through the trails and back home just fine.

I ordered a set of OME heavies today to get rid of the stink bug. After I mounted the front bumper and winch it dropped another inch or so. I'll have pics of the stink bug tomorrow and I'm expecting the springs Wednesday.

It still has a bit of 'death wobble' and I suspect it's in the tires. I don't feel like dismounting them this week so I'll run it like that for a while.

Well I think I got pretty much everything done except for the springs. I started packing my gear box with parts I may need. Switching to the 60 w/the I6 from the 40 w/a SBC I have to replace a lot of spare engine specific parts. My tool box has also taken a beating during this build. Wah wah wah, I know. So here are som pics no load and stink bugged.
