Hi Folks.

I've rebuilt a couple 1FZ's and am in the middle of doing a head gasket/possible full rebuild for somebody else. I've only used OEM in the past but they showed me this kit and wanted to know if we should go this route: Premium Master Rebuild Kit

It seems like a good product and I've seen mostly positive speculation about it here on mud, but I haven't seen anything on this site about anybody who's actually ever used this kit. Anybody rolling around with these parts under their hood? Any real world experience about this kit? TIA

Did one a couple years ago back in 16 pistons were made in Taiwan, everything seemed ok, we rebuilt it and sent her down the road. Prob fine but prob won’t get the same longevity out of it. We did use a factory head gasket though. No idea how it is running today.

Do you need the pistons, timing chain, timing gear, etc? Or do you just need seals and maybe a new set of rings? If it's just the latter you could be into most of the OEM stuff for close to the price of that kit.

Is there an OEM rebuild kit and what's the cost difference?
